The parents of the Marine Corps officer who’s been tossed in the brig for demanding accountability over the disaster in Afghanistan are convinced that the Biden administration is trying to “bury” their son for the crime of “speaking truth to power.”

Speaking together on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” late Wednesday, Stu and Cathy Scheller, the parents of Marine Lt. Col Stuart Scheller, revealed that they don’t even know how their son’s holding up because they haven’t been allowed to speak with him since he was locked up on Monday.

“He’s been in prison since Monday. We talked to him for two minutes on Monday, and he gave us two messages. He said call my attorney, and we did, and he said tell everyone, and so we appreciate you having us on … because this story is outrageous, and it needs to be told,” Stu Scheller said.

Host Tucker Carlson responded by saying, “I can’t remember being as offended by anything as I am by this. It’s just, it’s so completely wrong.”

Carlson then asked the couple whether they’ve heard from anybody in Congress yet.

Stu said they’ve heard from some, but the outreach didn’t really pick up until he and his wife “asked Americans to find their voice and stand up and call their congressmen.”

“So I believe this is why we heard it on the Senate floor two days ago, and this is why we heard it on the House floor today. Lt. Col. Scheller’s name is being discussed because Americans are demanding accountability, and we appreciate that, America,” he added.

Cathy then jumped in to add that “we do — we really appreciate it,” before taking the lead and revealing another bombshell about the case.

What you need to know also is that they announced to his lawyers this morning with less than 24 hours notice that he will be in pre-trial tomorrow, and they dumped a 640-page document on them with 24 hours. They’re trying to bury our son,” she said.

That does indeed appear to be the case. Scheller became a household name late last month when he began posting Facebook videos speaking out against the Biden administration’s catastrophic failures in Afghanistan.

He was subsequently relieved of his duties for speaking out and then voluntarily resigned from his commission before month’s end.

But then, all of a sudden, he was tossed in “pre-trial” confinement early this week.

“Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller Jr. is currently in pre-trial confinement in the Regional Brig for Marine Corps Installations East aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune pending an Article 32 preliminary hearing,” a Marine Corps spokesperson told Task & Purpose.

“The time, date, and location of the proceedings have not been determined. Lt. Col. Scheller will be afforded all due process,” the spokesperson added.

According to Task & Purpose, Scheller  has been accused “of the following offenses under the UCMJ: Article 88: Contempt toward officials, Article 90: Willfully disobeying superior commissioned officer, Article 92: Failure to obey an order, and Article 133: Conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman.”

According to his parents, the accusations are 100 percent grade A bullschiff.

“Probably a week or two ago, or maybe it was a week ago, they put him under a gag order. They took away his right to post, to talk on social media, to email, to text. He shared it with America, and he knew this weekend when he posted again and he broke his silence that they were probably going to arrest him on Monday,” his father said.

He is a very intelligent man. He understands what’s going to happen to him. He broke chain of command, and I said last night on a program, Tucker, his crime was speaking truth to power, and power couldn’t handle it,” Scheller’s father added.

He then admitted that his son had indeed broken the “chain of command.”

But, he continued, he’d done it for a valid reason.

While he broke chain of command, Austin, Milley, McKenzie, they broke the chain of trust and confidence in the American people. We’re mad. We’re mad as hell!” he said, referencing the Biden administration’s top generals.

The discussion concluded with Scheller’s parents asserting what they wanted.

“I’m asking the American people to find your voice, stand up, demand accountability of your Congresspeople. Ask for Lt. Scheller to be freed,” Stu said.

“In my opinion — of course, I’m dad, so it’s probably not fair — I think he should receive his pension after 17 years of fighting for this country. I think he and his family should have their health benefits and VA benefits for the rest of their lives for the sacrifices he’s made,” Scheller’s father continued.

“And he needs to be out of solitary confinement in prison, where he is not allowed to call anyone or to have visitors,” Cathy added.
