Meghan McCain battles Jennifer Rubin, gets pounded by leftists after ‘Meet the Press’ appearance

Meghan McCain made her first television appearance since her departure from “The View” last month and immediately triggered liberals with criticism of President Joe Biden and the radical agenda being pushed by Democrats.

Joining the panel on Sunday’s edition of “Meet The Press,” McCain was warmly greeted by host Chuck Todd who welcomed her to a show that regularly featured her father, deceased Senator John McCain who holds the record for most appearances on the NBC flagship political talk show.

“It’s good to have a McCain back on ‘Meet the Press,’” Todd said. “Nice to have you here,” welcoming McCain who now pens a column for the Daily Mail after enduring years of abuse from the likes of Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Whoopi Goldberg.

The panel discussion centered on the Biden agenda and the gargantuan “Build Back Better” agenda that would dramatically transform America in ways that the alleged “moderate” never openly supported while on the campaign trail and which continues to face opposition from Senate Republicans.

During the conversation, McCain expressed surprise at the “outward hostility towards moderates in the Democratic Party,” such as Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema who have been major thorns in the side for Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the White House.

She also noted that Biden ran as a moderate and “won with the help of independent centrists, Trump-weary Republicans, and he is not governing as one. The Build Back Better agenda is the most progressive modern agenda of all time, up to $5 trillion, and it’s not polling well,” pointing out the unpopularity of Biden’s agenda. “So I think I’m just confused as to why they’re doubling down on something that is cratering in the polls right now.”

McCain responded to a fellow panelist, Amy Walter, suggesting that Biden is hardly a great communicator.

“I still don’t know if I’m supposed to get a booster or not. The other thing I would piggyback on what you’re saying, Amy, is that Americans may not understand this bill in its entirety, especially if you’re an average American working. But they do understand inflation,” she said. “They understand what happened in Afghanistan. They understand that their gas prices are going up. They understand that Christmas toys are going to be more expensive for their kids. And that is something that will be a deal-breaker for candidates coming up in the midterms.”

Biden’s defenders hissed in anger on Twitter, led by the establishment punditry including former CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien who castigated McCain for name-dropping her father and maligned her as having “zero value” as a guest, criticism echoed by Harvard Law School Professor and frequent CNN guest Laurence Tribe who sniped, “Meet The Press has lousy standards.”

Jennifer Rubin of The Washington Post accused McCain of lying, suggesting that Americans are strongly supportive of the $5 trillion boondoggle, tweeting that it “is false. It is polling well. Why let her come on to lie?”

Rachel Vindman, the wife of disgraced impeachment “whistleblower” Alexander Vindman, agreed with Rubin’s griping about the “bitter” McCain.

Rubin’s tweet drew a response from McCain who pointed out that “Joe Biden IS his agenda. A presidents polls mean something – that the American people aren’t happy with how he’s governing or his agenda.”

McCain added, ‘Also if Dems plan is to buy off American voters they’d better come up with a solution to the inflation that is raising prices for everyone.”

The reaction to McCain’s MTP appearance and her implication that matters are not as they are portrayed by a media that acts as Biden’s cheerleaders is further proof that the Beltway elites are living in an alternate reality.
