Biden handler can’t corral journos away fast enough during UN photo op

With a number of crises dominating the news cycle, President Joe Biden’s handlers are none too eager to see him fielding questions from the media.

While the 78-year-old president has plenty of allies among the journalists covering the White House, there have surprisingly been some tough questions, particularly in regard to the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Biden was in New York on Tuesday, where he’ll make his maiden speech to the United Nations General Assembly, and he participated in a bilateral meeting on the sidelines along with U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres.

The press was let in for the standard photo ops, but Biden’s aides were adamant that he would not take questions, aggressively shooing them out of the room.

The Republican National Committee wasted no time sharing the footage online:

While Biden being selective about taking questions is nothing new, the ferocity of the effort by his aides, who seemed almost desperate to get the reporters out of the room before Biden started spouting off, seemed particularly outrageous.

Of course, the most pressing issue right now is the exploding southern border, which Border Patrol has appeared to lose all control of in some sections — though, it’s hardly their fault that Biden has all but surrendered U.S. sovereignty, just as he surrendered Afghanistan to the Taliban.

With concerns that a tent city of more than 15,000 illegal immigrants could erupt at any moment into violent rioting, and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott calling on the president to declare a state of emergency, the White House has been rather silent.

There is also the matter of the administration finally admitting that a drone in Afghanistan killed an American ally’s family, including seven children. Biden had taken no questions on the matter since declaring that those killed were ISIS-K terrorists. Adding to the mix is the fact that there are still Americans in Kabul who were abandoned by this president.

Biden is also dealing with an angry French ally over a new partnership between the U.S. and Australia on nuclear-powered submarines. France recalled its ambassadors to the United States and Australia in protest last week and the White House was forced to go through the media to “lobby” French President Emmanuel Macron to take the U.S. president’s phone call.

But the greatest crisis Biden faces is a lack of confidence in his ability, not just at home but around the world as well.

There are also questions about the pandemic, growing concerns about inflation, and the matter of the stalled $3.5 trillion spending bill, an unprecedented bill that serves as a proverbial wish list for the radical left.

When taking questions, the president frequently has a list of approved reporters to call on or talks about “getting into trouble” when answering random questions. He often carries hand cards chock full of information.
