Candace Owens: Nicki Minaj ‘accidentally stumbled upon the ministry of truth’ and she’s not playing

Conservative podcaster and Fox News contributor Candace Owens backed rapper Nicki Minaj, who blasted MSNBC host Joy Reid in a Twitter back-and-forth Monday for defending Americans’ right to choose if they want to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Host Tucker Carlson introduced the segment with a clip featuring Reid and guests who supported “skepticism” of the vaccine last year when they were being developed under the guise of then-President Donald Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed.”

He also highlighted a September 2020 tweet in which Owens voiced doubts about any vaccines approved by the Food & Drug Administration, which Minaj picked up on.

The “Candace” host began by saying it’s “good for her” not to bend to the media pressure to conform automatically to some of the same people who once doubted the vaccines to now supporting them unequivocally that Joe Biden is in office and they are being pushed by a Democrat president.

“These are the people, by the way, that when they’re running, they go around and get [celebrities] to endorse them,” Owens said. “They try to get them to speak on behalf of them and Nicki Minaj is not playing that game.”

The clap back by Minaj has allowed Americans to see what media elitists really think about celebrity allies, said Owens, following bylines that attacked the international star for supposedly being uneducated regarding the vaccines.

“At the end of the day, what they actually think – the Democrats – is that these people are stupid,” said Owens

“They like to come around every four years for the votes but at the end of the day, they think Nicki Minaj and all rappers are very stupid. And Nicki Minaj, right now, is proving them otherwise. She’s not afraid,” the podcast standout continued.

The attacks on the rapper began after she first tweeted about a cousin’s friend who reportedly became impotent after getting a coronavirus vaccine while then urging her followers to “pray on it” before taking the shots themselves, adding that no one should be “bullied” into doing so.

Reid railed at Minaj on her MSNBC “ReidOut” program for giving her opinion on the matter, suggesting that the rapper “can do better than that.”

But Minaj took to Twitter to blast Reid by exposing her own doubts about the FDA’s approval of the vaccines for emergency use about a year ago.

“This is what happens when you’re so thirsty to down another black woman (by the request of the white man), that you didn’t bother to read all my tweets,” Minaj posted. “Imagine getting ur dumb a** on tv a min after a tweet to spread a false narrative about a black woman.”

In response, Owens said that Minaj may have “accidentally stumbled upon the ministry of truth” after lodging a challenge to a Democrat Party that seeks to censor those who question political orthodoxy.

But even at that, the podcaster said, leftists are playing a “dangerous game.”

“[This] will likely create more vaccine hesitancy than before because they’re taking down someone that they love for no reason,” she continued. “They’re exposing themselves to be what they are – the ministry of truth.”
