Earlier this summer, genuinely peaceful protesters showed up outside the Wi Spa in Los Angeles to show their disgust over the business having done nothing about a so-called “transgender woman” flashing his genitals to a child.
The protests spawned after a video of a parent inside Wi Spa confronting indifferent staff members about the “transgender woman’s” behavior went viral.
In response, the media smeared the protesters as “anti-trans” bigots and accused them of perpetrating a hoax. Meanwhile, violent left-wing Antifa extremists descended on the protests to harass and attack the genuinely peaceful protesters.
Months later, the so-called “transgender woman” whom the media had defended and whom the left-wing extremists had physically attacked others on behalf of has been outed as a longtime sex offender who had, in fact, flashed his genitals.
“Darren Agee Merager was charged Monday with five counts of indecent exposure, relating to an incident inside the Wi Spa on June 23,” the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.
“Police said she has a criminal history. Merager has been a registered sex offender since 2006 as a result of convictions for indecent exposure in 2002 and 2003, according to the LAPD,” the outlet added.
Below is an internal flyer about Merager that was reportedly issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 2018:
“Merager claims to identify as female so he can access women’s locker rooms and showers,” the flyer reads.
Surprise, surprise …
It’s believed he’s also the perpetrator behind the incident documented below:
This marks yet another glaring example of the left reflexively glomming onto a demonstrably false narrative for political purposes — in this case to protect allegedly marginalized “transgender women” like Merager.
The media are still playing this game. In reporting on Merager’s arrest, The Guardian couldn’t help smearing the upset parents who’d peacefully protested.
“The Wi Spa video from June went viral on rightwing forums, far-right sites and Fox News and led to two major anti-trans protests outside the spa, during which far-right demonstrators fought with trans-rights protesters in the street,” The Guardian wrote, (emphasis added).
It’s “anti-trans” for parents to peacefully protest about a biological male showing children his genitals?
“The original allegations about what happened at the spa were quickly distorted online, leading to widespread misinformation and online abuse against trans women who spoke out and engaged in counter protests,” The Guardian added.
But judging by the charges filed against Merager, it seems clear that the bulk of the “misinformation” was spread by the left-wing media outlets who’d blindly defended him on the grounds that he’d been the victim.

It’s a narrative they likely plucked right from his own mouth. To this day, he continues to portray himself as the victim of some grand right-wing conspiracy.
“Everything about the Wi Spa was a bunch of garbage and lies. She never saw me naked. I was underwater with water all the way up to my chest,” he said in an interview with the New York Post published Thursday.
According to the Post: “Merager denies ever being erect or around children at the spa. She says she is actually the victim of sexual harassment by transphobic women at the Wi Spa.”
“Transphobic women” like Cubana Angel, the woman who’d been seen in the viral June 23rd video confronting the spa’s staff members:

“It’s OK for a man to go into the women’s section, show his penis around the other women, young little girls — underage — in your spa? He’s a man! He is a man!” she’d said in the clip.
During an appearance on Newsmax not too long after the incident, Cubana asked with all sincerity, “Where can we [girls and women] be safe now?”
“Women have rights, and we should have places we feel safe, especially with bathrooms, the gym, sauna areas,” she said.
“If you’re telling me and the women — not just here in America but globally — that it is OK for a man to go into the woman’s sauna area and expose his natural, God-given genitalia, penis, testicles, then you’re opening the door for molestation, rape and all other kind of disgusting, nasty things to happen to women. Where can we be safe now?” she added.

If biological men like Merager get their way, girls and women may soon not be safe anywhere, certainly not in spas.
“Merager says she is speaking with progressive California lawmakers, like state senator Scott Wiener, in the hope that they change state law to better protect trans people,” according to the Post.
“If you go into an area where you’re expected to be nude, there has to be an indecent exposure exemption,” he told the outlet.
