American stranded in Kabul begs Biden for help but says she’s being ignored as Taliban cements deadline

An American woman says she’s stranded in Afghanistan and that the Biden administration appears to be ignoring her pleas a day after White House press secretary Jen Psaki pushed back on the allegations that U.S. citizens were being abandoned there.

“We are stranded at home,” said the woman, who went by the name Fatima, in an interview with “Fox & Friends First.”

“We can’t get to the airport. When we try to get to the airport, we either get beaten up or we are afraid for our lives,” she continued.

“For four days — three, four days — we didn’t hear anything from anywhere. And then they’re saying to go to the airport, but we’re not being given clear guidance,” Fatima continued.

“They are saying one thing and the next day they come and say something else. So you really exactly don’t know what to do. There is a lot of miscommunication going on. You know, your emails are getting ignored,” she added.

On Monday, Fox News’ White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked press secretary Jen Psaki what the administration planned to do to help Americans “stranded” in Afghanistan, only to get pushback from her.

“Does the president have a sense that most of the criticism is not of leaving Afghanistan, it’s the way that he has ordered it to happen by pulling the troops before getting these Americans who are now stranded?” Doocy asked.

“I think it’s irresponsible to say Americans are stranded. They are not. We are committed to bringing Americans who want to come home, home,” Psaki fired back. “We are going to bring them home and I think that’s important for the American public to hear and understand.”

However, Fatima’s case appears to be one of the instances that Doocy was talking about — and Psaki denied.

“Imagine being stranded in the situation like this and not receiving anything for three, four days from U.S. embassy or the State Department,” Fatima told Fox & Friends. “I am afraid for my life. … I don’t know, you know, how things are going to go.

“But I really need — I really need our president to really consider this serious. We are in danger. We are in danger, Mr. President. Please, help us,” she added.

U.S. lawmakers also pushed back on Psaki after she made her claim Monday with examples.

“My office literally just received word of a Tennessean STRANDED in Afghanistan,” Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) wrote on Twitter in a post featuring a video clip of the exchange between Doocy and Psaki.

“This is just not true. And it’s a slap in the face to the thousands of Americans who are stranded right now,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) added as well.

Cotton’s senior adviser, Matthew Downer, also weighed in.

“An American woman is stranded in Kabul, all alone. When she tried to get to the airport, the Taliban beat her for the crime of traveling without a male escort. She has heard nothing from the State Department—only from free lance volunteers a world away,” he tweeted.

Taliban officials have said they will not extend the Aug. 31 deadline for all U.S. troops and personnel to be out of Afghanistan. Biden said Tuesday he agreed with a Pentagon assessment to stick to the deadline as well.
