Michael Hayden probably should consider taking a break from social media.
The retired Air Force general, who served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency under President G.W. Bush, has been doing some retweeting that would not exactly be categorized as intelligent.
His online activity also suggests that so far, no effective vaccine or another metaphorical form of treatment exists for Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Late last week, Hayden retweeted a split image of the actual Taliban on the move and “our Taliban,” the latter being a peaceful, long caravan of pickups with American flags and Trump 2020 flags.

Seizing upon a similar theme, MSNBC’s Joy Reid last week compared the Taliban in Afghanistan — similarly without evidence — to the religious right in America.
On Sunday, Gen. Hayden retweeted a message from a Twitter user with currently 12 followers which read: “Can we send the MAGA wearing unvaxxed to Afghanistan, no use sending that plane back empty?”
The user was presumably referring to the chaotic evacuation from Kabul airport of Americans and Afghanis after Joe Biden’s botched withdrawal of American troops.
Above the original tweet, Hayden wrote “Good idea.”

These retweets call into question the mindset of those running these key federal agencies.
If the political/media establishment want to overcome so-called COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, moreover, a comment shared by a career government bureaucrat of this kind is unlikely to be a good idea.
“Hayden was previously accused of lying to Congress, in a 2014 Senate report on CIA torture that indicated he wanted lawmakers briefed using outdated information on Guantanamo Bay detainees. He also staunchly defended the US’s use of drone warfare and accused people who criticized CIA torture methods as not useful of being ‘interrogation deniers,'” the Daily Mail recalled.
Hayden, an independent, voted for Biden in 2020 because a second Trump term “would be very bad for America.” Lots of voters who chose the Democrat are experiencing Biden remorse, however.

Hayden, who helped push the Trump-Russia collusion hoax to a certain degree, and is or was a fanboy of intel officials and fellow anti-Trump cable news talking heads John Brennan and James Clapper, is getting Twitter applause from liberals for both retweets — especially those who seem to classify nearly 75 million Trump voters as insurrectionists.
Many others are taking the general and ex-spy chief to task, including for his apparent inability in the first retweet to distinguish between ISIS and the Taliban.
Except that’s ISIS. Completely different flag. This guy was head of CIA and NSA? Explains a lot lol

Pretty hateful tweet, you might need to re think who has most of the hate in this country

Wow, with all of your experience, if you can’t tell the difference between a real threat and media hype…and retweeting this crap? Swampier than most.
— Studiovx (@studiovx) August 22, 2021
What a disgusting and blatantly inaccurate comparison.
— Montresor (@eyal_jonathan) August 23, 2021
You can’t honestly believe that these two groups of people are similar, so I’m trying to understand why you would retweet something this divisive. I’m at a loss.

You realize that America was founded by Patriots… it’s scary to think you were ever in charge of protecting America.

Here are some of the outpouring of responses to the “MAGA unvaxxed” tweet:
Sad and unbecoming even from you, Mike.

You’re a prime example that service doesn’t always mean integrity.

I don’t care which side of the fence you’re on, advocating violence, banishment etc. of people whose choices you don’t agree with is just weak. It isn’t constructive and all it does is division, and lord knows we don’t need any more of that.

Way to garner respect for military leadership.
General right?? Ever win a war?
Or just put in time sending kids to their death long enough to get a defense contractor board seat.
— T.J. Kosen (@kosentrade) August 22, 2021
@GenMhayden who helped orchestrate the criminal disaster of Afghanistan is joking about sending unvaxxed trump supporters there. The hubris and ignorance of the US military industrial complex is next level obscene.

I don’t care how many four stars were on your shoulder and what post you got because he just enough ass I’m a combat veteran and conservative that serve honorably and continue to live honorably so who the hell are you to compare us to the Taliban
