Taliban threatens to pistol-whip CNN producer one day after reporter calls death to US chants ‘friendly’

CNN correspondent Clarissa Ward has been a popular point-of-contact in Kabul recently, broadcasting live throughout the recent days since the Taliban terrorist regime swiftly conquered the capital city of Afghanistan without firing a shot.

(They have fired plenty of them elsewhere and since).

Just today they fired upon protesters wishing to keep the Afghan flag rather than adopt the white flag of the Taliban, injuring many and killing two. And in furtherance of their notions of equality for the female sex, they executed one woman in the street for not wearing a burqa.

In her latest report on Wednesday, she related to anchor John Berman that she and her team ran into an “extremely chaotic” situation near Hamid Karzai international airport. Surrounded by people frantically seeking aid, her producer was acosted by two Taliban fighters:

“The most frightening moment for our team came when our producer Brent Swails was taking some video on his iPhone. Two Taliban fighters just came up with their pistol ands they were ready to pistol whip him. We had to intervene and scream and it was actually another Taliban fighter who came in and said ‘No, no, no. Don’t do that, they’re journalists’…I’ve covered all sorts of crazy situations. This was mayhem. This was nuts, the correspondent said.”

Ward went on to describe the worsening situation on the ground in Kabul, seeming to realize – not a moment too soon – what those outside the protective bubble of mainstream have known for many years: Without a stabilizing American presence in the region, the Taliban will reemerge, making the situation untenable for those with the basic desire to live their lives in peace.

The CNN crew has had to move from one location to the next, looking for pockets of relative calm where they can do their broadcasts. She reported that men who aren’t armed with rifles are armed with all manner of other makeshift weapons; whips, even steel bike locks, many of whom will yell at her and demand that she cover her face.

She added there is always a consistent stream of gunfire to be heard. That’s something even Joe Biden and the radical Left must acknowledge. After all, CNN is the unofficial mouthpiece of the Democratic party.

Ward then described the harsh and violent reality facing Afghan civilians, saying that although she had been in a multitude of crazy situation, of her experience currently, “This was mayhem. This is nuts. This is impossible for an ordinary civilian, even if they have their paperwork. No way they are running that gauntlet [to the airport.]”

She summed it up by saying “It’s very dicey. It’s very dangerous. And honestly, to me it’s a miracle that more people haven’t been very, very seriously hurt.”

It is sadly a foregone conclusion that more people will.
