#BidenRemorse trends hard on social media as frustrated Americans express deep regret

The hashtag #BidenRemorse circulated Monday morning on Twitter as the situation in Afghanistan worsened and became even more chaotic as Taliban forces entered the capital of Kabul, took over the abandoned presidential palace, and began tightening control over the rest of the country.

“Bring back: mean tweets, low gas prices, peace in the Middle East, border security,” wrote conservative commentator Melissa Tate on Twitter. “Biden must resign in disgrace #BidenRemorse #BidenDisaster.”

“So many Biden voters are turning over in their graves with #BidenRemorse,” quipped columnist Margot Cleveland.

Warning: Strong language

“None of this worldwide chaos happened under President Trump. Complete opposite. Trump brought peace in Middle East, built US embassy in Jerusalem, skyrocketing economy and energy Independence. Don’t give up on your country!” another user posted with the hashtags “#IMPEACHBIDENNOW #BidenRemorse #BidenDisaster.”

“Remember when Trump was getting peace deals signed in the middle east? Good times,” another user wrote.

“#Biden pulls soldiers out then a few months later is sending our American soldiers right back. He literally can’t get anything right. #IMPEACHBIDENHARRIS #BidenRemorse,” another user noted, posting a video of a teary-eyed Afghan girl who says “no one cares about us.”

Biden has come under fire for what is currently taking place in Afghanistan — the collapse of the national government and a return to rule by the Taliban — but also for several more issues, most notably the chaos along the U.S.-Mexico border and dramatically rising inflation.

Before Afghanistan dominated the news cycle, reports about the worsening border situation were grabbing attention as Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was recorded telling Border Patrol agents last week that the situation along the border is “unsustainable.”

“If our border is the first line of defense, then we’re gonna lose and this is unsustainable,” Mayorkas was heard saying. “We can’t continue like this. Our people in the field can’t continue and our system isn’t built for it.”

“I know very well … how close we were to breaking in this sector, and it’s our responsibility to make sure that it never happens again, never gets close again,” he added. “We’re stepping up our enforcement, we’re working on the policies.”

“This station is operating on a minimal budget. We’ve got vehicles in our fleet that have rust in the door — that’s embarrassing,” a Border Patrol agent told Mayorkas in response. “I mean, we have solid holes in some of our doors because we don’t have vehicle replacements. We don’t have vans, we don’t have buses.”

“This nation’s, this country’s Border Patrol is huge,” the agent continued. “But this situation, we created it. We created it by allowing this.”

Biden is also being attacked over rising energy, food, and housing prices as inflation is no longer being considered “transitory,” as officials claimed earlier this year.

“Inflation is expected to surge longer and longer — longer than the Fed previously thought,” said Grant Thornton chief economist Diane Swonk. “The Fed is now likely to raise rates in the first half of 2023, although some Fed presidents will be nipping at the bit to move sooner.”
