Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Health, doubled down on his assertions that unvaccinated individuals should “put aside” concerns and submit to the jab to recognize the “common enemy” that he said is the virus.
“You have to get the overwhelming proportion of people vaccinated, but you also have to do mitigation, and that gets to the controversial issue of mask-wearing, and the mandating of things. Mandating vaccines, for example, for teachers and … personnel in the school,” Fauci told guest host Nancy Cordes in an interview Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
Fauci continued with the approved leftist narrative that this is allegedly a “pandemic of the unvaccinated,” stating that it is primarily unvaccinated people who are dying of the virus despite some breakthrough cases in inoculated people.
“It’s the unvaccinated that are doing that, so we have a lot of tasks. We’ve got to do mitigation. Put aside all of these issues of concern about liberties and personal liberties and realize we have a common enemy and that common enemy is the virus,” Fauci said, likely not aware that many people view his persistent assault on liberty as the enemy. “And we really have to go together to get on top of this. Otherwise, we’re going to continue to suffer as we’re seeing right now.”
But the “science” Fauci claims should be used to coerce individuals into giving up their own bodily autonomy appears contradictory.
Despite “breakthrough cases” officially reported to be less than one percent among vaccinated people, Center for Disease Control (CDC) Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky recently admitted that transmission can occur among individuals who have rolled up their sleeves for the jab.
“High viral loads suggest an increased risk of transmission and raised concern that, unlike with other variants, vaccinated people infected with Delta can transmit the virus,” Walensky said.
Given the contradictory information, and the growing number of reports of vaccinated individuals both contracting and in some cases dying from the virus, many have concluded that the CDC isn’t interested in reporting the true breakthrough case count and that your personal liberties should remain intact if vaccinated folks can spread the virus anyway.
The interview with Fauci continued with Cordes referencing a recent study that indicated Moderna’s vaccine provides better immunity to the delta variant compared to Pfizer’s and asked if people eligible for a booster shot should choose Moderna over Pfizer.
“First of all, it’s a preprint study,” he said in disagreement. “It hasn’t been fully peer-reviewed and I don’t doubt what they’re seeing, but there are a lot of confounding variables.”

Fauci’s comments echo similar claims he made in an interview earlier this month where he “disagreed” that masks are a personal choice and argued that individual liberty doesn’t apply.

Fauci has been dismissive of personal liberties throughout the pandemic. Earlier this year he brushed off concerns from those looking for an objective goalpost that would dictate when and if American’s would get their freedoms back from the oppressive pandemic restrictions.
“I don’t look at this as a liberty thing,” Fauci responded.
