Fox News host Tucker Carlson isn’t letting New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slide on her unsubstantiated, arguably narcissistic belief that the Jan. 6th rioters would have raped her if they’d had the chance.

Speaking Thursday on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” he questioned the validity of her recently made hyperbolic claim and also asked how the left would have reacted had someone on the right accused Black Lives Matter rioters of being wannabe rapists.

To really deliver the point home, he framed the congresswoman’s bizarre belief around the death of Ashli Babbitt, a Jan. 6th rioter who was allegedly killed without warning.

“Occasionally Sandy Cortez tells us about her lived experience on Jan. 6th. During a recent special on CNN, Sandy Cortez — does she ever stop talking about herself, by the way — she explained she wasn’t simply afraid of being murdered by Ashli Babbitt. She was also worried about being raped,” he said.

Carlson then played a clip of the congresswoman pouring her heart out.

In a CNN interview published earlier this week, she claimed that she thought she’d be killed and raped when the Jan. 6th riot erupted.

“White supremacy and patriarchy are very linked in a lot of ways. There’s a lot of sexualizing of that violence. And I didn’t think that I was just going to be killed. I thought other things were going to happen to me as well,” she said.

CNN host Dana Bash then asked if she meant rape.

“Yeah, I thought I was,” the congresswoman replied.

The absurdity of her claim was too much for Carlson.

“Get a therapist, honey!” he exclaimed in response to her remarks.

“This is crazy. These people are mad because they thought the election wasn’t fair. Now, you may disagree with that, but it wasn’t about you — surprise, surprise. Sexualizing the violence? ‘I was going to be raped by Ashli Babbitt,'” he continued, mocking her.

He then raised the question of how the left would have responded had a right-wing “Karen” accused BLM rioters — whom he noted were far more violent and destructive than the Jan. 6th rioters — of wanting to rape her.

“Imagine some Republican lady saying that about a BLM riot as thousands of rioters descended on neighborhoods and burned businesses all over the country. Kenosha, Portland, Georgetown, Green Bay, Wisconsin. What would happen if some Karen said that it was sexualized violence. Can you imagine?” he asked with a chuckle.

Knowing how the left behaves, the “Karen” would have likely faced nonstop media attacks, public harassment and maybe even a physical attack.

And there’s no doubt that so-called “fact-checkers” would have run “fact-checks” arguing “there’s no evidence that the peaceful protesters had intended to rape her.”

Were they to fact-check Ocasio-Cortez — which they’d never do — they might note that she wasn’t even in the thick of things during the day of the riot.

The riot occurred in the Capitol Building, but she was in the Cannon House Office Building, which was never breached, though she’s claimed she’d been worried the rioters would eventually use one of the Capitol’s underground tunnels to reach the building.

Fact-checkers might also note that her timing was way off. After the riot, she claimed  in a video that around 1:00 pm on Jan. 6th, someone had begun loudly banging on her office door, triggering her into rushing into the bathroom to hide because she thought one of the rioters had reached her and was on the verge of killing (and raping) her.

The problem is that the Capitol wasn’t breached until the following hour.

“At 1:59 p.m., [authorities] received the first report that rioters had reached the Capitol’s doors and windows and were attempting to break at least one window,” according to a timeline published by The Washington Post.

“About 2:11 p.m. … the rioters successfully broke through a window with a piece of lumber. A minute later, a member of the mob entered through the window, the footage shows,” the timeline continues.

This seems like a glaring discrepancy, yet there isn’t a single fact-check from mainstream “fact-checkers” noting this. Why? Carlson had a theory.

Continuing his point, he argued that the “Karen” would “probably go to jail for” lying and smearing BLM, “but Sandy Cortez can say it because the people rioting on Jan. 6th had the wrong political views.”

Bingo.

“So according to our media, those people are not simply rioters or dissidents — much less civil rights protesters … these people are in fact domestic terrorists,” he added.

In other words, it’s perfectly fine to smear Trump supporters as rapists and whatever else — and to tell bold-faced lies in the process — but God forbid anyone merely criticize BLM like the poor woman below once did:
