‘Your time is up’: Rose McGowan roasts Milano, Cuomo and ‘stupid black dresses’ in no-holds-barred posts

Actress Rose McGowan continued her outspoken advocacy against hypocritical celebrities and politicians this week as she focused on Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his now-infamous sexual harassment allegations and those who apparently helped cover up the scandal.

Having grown up in the Children of God cult, the former “Charmed” star McGowan is a fierce advocate for victims of sexual harassment and abuse and ripped the New York governor to shreds in response to a 165-page report released by Attorney General Letitia James that alleges the governor violated state and federal law by harassing multiple women and retaliating against a former employee.

McGowan also targeted Time’s Up CEO and President Tina Tchen for helping downplay allegations against Cuomo. Tchen was noted in James’ report as apparently helping to draft a letter for Cuomo that denied the allegations of his accusers, including a former employee, Lindsey Boylan.

In a video released on Twitter on Tuesday, 47-year-old McGowan first denounced the governor and seemed to call for his resignation.

“Governor Cuomo, can’t you stop being a pr**k?” she asked, “go home!”

On Thursday, she slammed Tchen in a statement on Twitter for her involvement in the apparent Cuomo coverup scandal.

“Remember when Hollywood actresses & paid off activists wore stupid black dresses at the Oscars? That was sponsored by Times Up who were meant to help abuse victims I told the world they are a lie 3+ years ago,” McGowan’s began.

“I was mocked & harassed by so many who want to believe the illusion,” she said. “Wake up. Hard truths are inconvenient & uncomfortable. So what, suck it up.”

McGowan’s tweet was in reference to a demonstration organized by Time’s Up at the 2018 Golden Globes which aimed to keep the focus on the several sexual harassment scandals that bubbled up in the past few years.

The tweet continued by calling out Tchen, President Biden, Cuomo, and her former co-star Alyssa Milano.

“Milano, TimesUp, fake performatives and profiteers. Alyssa’s statement at the time was gaslighting in full effect. She said of my truth telling ‘Hurt people hurt people.’ No, Alyssa, it’s lizard people like you, SDK Knickerbocker, Gov Cuomo, the Pres, Tina Tchen who hurt people. Your time is up. Exit stage left,” McGowan wrote.

The report indicates that according to one of Cuomo’s top aides Melissa DeRosa, the New York governor told her to get advice from Roberta Kaplan, an attorney with ties to the Time’s Up legal defense.

“According to Ms. DeRosa, Ms. Kaplan read the letter to the head of the advocacy group Times Up [Tchen], and both of them allegedly suggested that, without the statements about Ms. Boylan’s interactions with male colleagues, the letter was fine,” James said in the report released on Tuesday.

However, Tchen has denied the allegations, writing in a statement on the Time’s Up website, “I have never given advice to the Governor or his team.”

“I had a phone call with Robbie Kaplan about a letter she said was being sent by his staffers during which I gave the same advice I give to everyone else: No survivor should be attacked and the truth should be told. I’m furious that the Governor’s office used me and TIME’S UP as a justification for their defense. TIME’S UP is an organization that has always centered survivors while holding those committing harm accountable. Any characterization of us to the contrary is simply not true,” Tchen wrote.
