The Biden administration reportedly apprehended a record number of unaccompanied illegal alien children along the U.S. southern border on Wednesday.

A datasheet shared by the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Health and Human Services showed that 834 unaccompanied illegal alien children were apprehended and placed into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in one day.

This brought the total number of illegal alien children in custody to 2,784. The number would be higher, but 591 children were transferred out of CBP that same day. Meanwhile, 14,523 illegal alien children were in HHS’s care.

Keep in mind all these apprehensions have occurred during one of the hottest months of the year, with border states recording “triple-digit temperatures,” according to Anna Giaritelli of the Washington Examiner.

“Biden’s open border policy is a disaster,” the senator bluntly wrote.

In more ways than just one. Over 200,000 illegals total, including adults, were apprehended in July, according to the latest data.

“For the sixth consecutive month since President Joe Biden took office and followed through on campaign promises to dismantle his predecessor’s deterrence-based policies, the number of illegal immigrants encountered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection broke records, reaching 210,000 in July,” the Centers for Immigration Studies reported this week.

This doesn’t include the tens of thousands of illegal aliens who’re believed to have evaded apprehension.

“July’s 200,000-plus encounters exceeded the monthly total of 188,829 immigrants encountered in June, a number that until July was the largest in a single month in 21 years. That would bring the number of CBP encounters just thus far this fiscal year, which ends September 30, to an overpowering 1.3 million. U.S.-Mexico border apprehensions last reached the million mark in 2006,” according to CIS.

Besides allowing illegal aliens to freely stream across the border, the Biden administration is reportedly also failing to take any safety precautions vis-a-vis the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this week, officials in one Texas border town, McAllen, reported that thousands of COVID-positive illegals have been released into their community since February.

They added that the illegals were released by the administration despite administration officials knowing full well that they had the virus.

A large part of the problem is that the administration and its allies in the media refuse to admit something is wrong.

For example, this is what Politico reported Thursday: “As the administration, local officials, border agents and nonprofit leaders grapple with the day-to-day logistical challenges of apprehending and processing or expelling thousands of migrants, U.S. officials and immigration experts say they have theories but no concrete explanations for why the increase is happening now.”

The oblivious report prompted John Cooper of The Heritage Foundation to bluntly point out the blame for the current crisis likely rests with President Joe Biden’s policies.

Look:

It appears his every policy decision has had an adverse effect, including the decision to halt the construction of former President Donald Trump’s border wall.

Thanks to the border wall decision, illegal aliens have reportedly been freely strolling right into the U.S. from a gap in the uncompleted border wall in La Joya, Texas.

Look:

The only good news is that this refusal to admit the problem and resolve it may cost Democrats dearly in 2022 and perhaps even 2024. But why won’t the administration admit the problem? According to well-known left-wing political commentator Ruy Teixeira, it’s because they’ve allowed themselves to fall for the “Fox News fallacy.”

This fallacy, he wrote in a Substack post this week, boils down to members of the left reflexively dismissing anything said by the right as a lie. And so, if the right complains about CRT, they’re lying. If the right complains about the border, they’re lying.

“The Biden administration has resisted — still resists — calling the situation at the Mexican border a ‘crisis’ and initially insisted that the surge at the border would go away on its own as the hot weather season arrived. This was the line most Democrats adhered to, invoking the idea that the issue was more a Fox News talking point than a real problem,” he explained.

The problem, of course, is that the right hasn’t been lying.

“It is now apparent that the border surge is not going away anytime soon and that the perceived liberalization of the border regime under the Biden administration has indeed spurred more migrants to try their luck at their border. And it is not going away with the hot weather,” he added.

This, Teixeira warned, could cost Democrats dearly, which is good news for Republicans. However, this news also comes with the extremely negative reality check that most likely, the border will remain as porous as foam until the day Biden is driven out of office.
