Legendary quarterback Tom Brady blasted his fellow players as well as the union that represents them for fumbling on the salary cap this year while NFL owners saw a double-digit rise in their franchise values.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers superstar, who added another Super Bowl ring to his already impressive collection after moving south in 2020, called out players as “ignorant” in response to a report that the league’s 32 teams are worth an average of 14 percent more this season despite last year’s troubles including empty stadiums and games that had to be rescheduled due to COVID-19.
Brady vented on Instagram, expressing his dismay that the NFLPA would allow the 2021 season salary cap to be set at 20 percent lower just before the league announced its new blockbuster media deal, a jaw-dropping $111.8 billion agreement that includes awarding the exclusive broadcasting rights for Thursday night primetime games to Amazon which will offer the coverage to subscribers.

The GOAT posted, “The salary cap dropped by 20 percent … and the new media deals were announced the day AFTER 2021 salary cap was set …” he wrote. “NFL players better wake up.”
“NFL players are IGNORANT.” he added as an exclamation point.
The salary cap has been shaved down to $182.5 million for this season, a drop from the $198.2 million that it was in 2020.
According to Forbes, the pandemic had little effect on team owners other than making them richer with the Dallas Cowboys leading the pack at $6.5 billion, Brady’s former team the New England Patriots coming in second with at $5 billion, and the Super Bowl champion Buccaneers clocking in at 21 with a value of 2.94 billion.

Brady would seem to have a good point considering that the NFLPA and the players have been overly concerned with their “woke” virtue signaling and disrespectful kneeling during the playing of the national anthem to bother with the financial details.
You have to hand it to Commissioner Goodell and the owners, they are sly like foxes by using social justice messaging, the painting of propagandistic Black Lives Matter slogans in the end zones, and the addition of the singing of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” aka “The Black National Anthem” before games this season as a sop to players who are easily distracted from their own diminishing economic fortunes while the same people that some of them have derisively compared to slave owners are making bank.
Brady, who turns 44 on Friday, will be looking to win his eighth Super Bowl and keep the Vince Lombardi Trophy in Tampa when the Bucs host the Dallas Cowboys before a raucous crowd at Raymond James Stadium on September 9th.
