A hardhat-wearing “intellectual” took the Biden administration to task over the recurrence of masking mandates as well as its insistence that all federal workers either take the COVID-19 vaccine or be subjected to weekly testing hassles.
But in a short video posted to Twitter, the “Hardhat Intellectual” saved his biggest criticism for Americans who, in his view, continue to sheepishly accept endless COVID mandates and restrictions.

“I’m utterly disgusted with societal ignorance at this point, you feel played fine. Idc [I don’t care] anymore put your pride to the side and stop muzzling yourself and allowing this s**t,” the man wrote in his post containing his video.

“Lotta madness is happening today, right?” he says to begin the video which was posted late last week.
After noting he had a busy day and was covered in the grime of his work, the man said during his drive home he caught up on current events before continuing.
“Man, madness. Biden literally saying that he’s gonna try to make the whole country get vaccinated — literally, in those words. Lockdowns are comin’ again,” he added, before pausing for a moment.
“Where are all the people that…you know, the GOP, the ‘fascists,’ the tyrants, they wanna take your freedoms away,” he said, apparent references to accusations often leveled against Republicans by Democrats and their voters.
“The same people that are currently doing the Jan. 6 commission, still trying to prove that they’re the good guys,” he added, acknowledging House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) select committee formed to reportedly look into the origins of the Capitol Building breach and riot earlier this year.
“But let me just ask people something, because this is the main thing that just, I can’t f**king understand people. It’s infuriating at this point, and I hate to curse but this is just absolutely ridiculous now,” he goes on.
“No one finds it odd or strange that right now they’re telling people who have been fully vaccinated that they still need to wear a mask and they still need to get weekly testing done,” he said, pausing, “against the same virus that they got vaccinated for.
“No one’s gonna ask that question, no liberals…no one’s gonna ask that. You guys are that stubborn? … It’s absolute insanity. I just don’t get it. I just don’t understand it,” the man continued.
“But there’s another thing that’s bothering me just as much,” he said. “No one is gonna ask the additional question of why are they pushing for these mandatory vaccines when clearly the vaccines don’t protect you from catching COVID, clearly. But they’re still trying to make them mandatory anyway.”
Federal health officials have said that generally speaking, existing COVID vaccines are effective but that they are beginning to see some “breakthrough” cases as the Delta variant spreads.
“And then the final one…the final question that’s really not that hard to figure out, is that they don’t have a Delta variant test, right, then how do they know that people have the Delta variant?” he asked, going on to say that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website.
“Wake the f**k up!” he said, to conclude his video.
Several social media users echoed the hardhat intellectual’s frustration.
“There’s one problem, this man and millions of other Americans have jobs and they have to come home exhausted every day and try to decipher the horse shit from DC EVERY FKN DAY! Never thought I live to see a politicized flu,” one user wrote.
“The next variant is Communism,” said another user.
“Follow the $$. Big Pharma owns these politicians and controls the media. It’s not about health,” another user theorized.
“[B]ecause this has nothing to do with health and they just want anyone not vaccinated to be in jail so they’ll have power forever,” said another.
“He’s spot on and oh my gosh he reminds me of @dbongino! You two gotta be long lost cousins!” said another user.
According to the CDC website, the man is correct about the lack of a specific COVID test to detect the Delta variant. The site says that the federal health agency’s scientists are currently trying to learn more about four variants detected in the U.S. — Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta — including whether they can be detected through existing COVID tests.
Also, according to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services’ website: “The viral tests that are used to determine if a person has COVID-19 are not designed to tell you what variant is causing the infection. Detecting the Delta variant, or other variants, requires a special type of testing called genomic sequencing.”
In addition, the CDC is researching whether the variants “spread more easily from person-to-person,” “cause milder or more severe disease in people,” “respond to medicines currently being used to treat COVID-19,” and “change the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines.”
