Only hours before Washington, DC.’s latest indoor mask mandate went into effect Saturday morning at 5:00 am, Mayor Buriel Bowser was spotted living the high life fully unmasked and without a care in the world.

A photo shared to Twitter early Saturday afternoon by none other than her deputy mayor for planning and economic development, John Falcicchio, showed her posing for a photo by four other people, including comedian Dave Chappelle.

There was no social distancing. In fact, all four appeared to be touching.

Look:

The photo was snapped sometime Friday at Officina, an Italian restaurant in D.C., presumably before Chappelle performed that evening at The Anthem.

Another photo that surfaced showed an exceptionally large group of people gathered around the mayor, who was wearing the same dress seen in the Chappelle photo.

This photo was shared to Instagram by a man named Jeffrey Mercer, who apparently is a local DJ.

“When your asked to Dj for the Mayor!!! Happy Birthday @mayor_bowser,” Mercer wrote as the photo’s caption.

Mercer has since made his Instagram profile private, though copies of the photo continue to circulate on Twitter.

Note the question posed by GOP strategist Brad Engle: “Was the two days notice on implementing the mask mandate so @MayorBowser could have her birthday party???”

Bowser announced the indoor mask mandate on Thursday but chose for some inexplicable reason to designate Saturday morning as its start date.

The following morning, she issued an official city statement about Chappelle’s then-upcoming performance.

“DC is open and we are so proud to welcome home Dave Chappelle. Washingtonians have waited months to be able to enjoy shows like this one again, and it makes it even sweeter to be able to reopen one of our favorite venues with a performance from one of the world’s most beloved comedians and a DC native, Dave Chappelle,” she said.

It’s presumed she wouldn’t have been allowed to participate in the unmasked photo-op with Chappelle had the indoor mask mandate already been in effect Friday. This suggests that her decision to delay the mandate may have been motivated by her desire to  be seen with him.

Either way, the mayor’s willingness to apparently rig the rules to favor her want s and needs provoked a massive outcry of anger.

This exact behavior has been seen time and time again throughout the pandemic — and always from left-wing political figures, be they Democrat members of Congress, Democrat governors or Democrat mayors.

It happens on a constant basis, with one of the more notorious recent examples being that of the Texas Democrats who fled their state in a commercial jet completely unmasked in violation of their own leader President Joe Biden’s federal mask mandate.

A number of the Democrats later went on to test positive for the coronavirus. Yet weeks later, neither apologies nor a shred of introspection have been forthcoming from them. Nor have they faced the brutal media pouncing that Republicans would have had to contend with had they pulled such a stunning stunt.

Likewise, Buriel will likely face no fierce scrutiny or any tangible consequences for her behavior, despite this not even being her first time acting in a questionable manner.

Following current President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory, she attended his victory speech in Delaware but then refused to quarantine afterward.

She did so despite her own administration’s requirement that those traveling from “high-risk states” (including Delaware) self-quarantine for 14 days.

As far as the mayor was concerned, she was special — and so were her travel plans.
