AOC drops thousands on personal security, ex-Blackwater contractor among recipients

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has the attitude of “rules for thee, but not for me” as a review of Federal Election Commission records shows blatant hypocrisy in her totalitarian push to “defund the police.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign has shelled out at least $4,636 during the first six months of 2021 for “security services” to a former Blackwater contractor, Tullis Worldwide Protection, that frequently employs former military and police to provide protection services, according to a review of the records by the New York Post.

The company, headed by CEO Devin Tullis offers extensive private security options for corporate and executive protection. Tullis, who has also worked as a bail enforcement officer according to his LinkedIn profile, head’s up the Virginia-based company whose website touts high profile clients including “royal family members from Saudi Arabia, [and] the United Arab Emirates…”

As a radical left-leaning Democrat, Ocasio-Cortez has been one of the most outspoken advocates for the “defund the police” movement. She believes taking police funding away will result in some kind of utopian paradise despite the mounting evidence to the contrary showing an increase in violent crime in cities that have opted for the logic-defying tactic.

“[Suburban] communities have lower crime rates not because they have more police but because they have more resources to support a healthy society in a way that reduces crime,” she said on Instagram in 2020.

Ocasio-Cortez is so deranged that even after New York City moved a billion dollars from the police department, she knocked the move as entirely inadequate.

“Defunding police means defunding police,” she argued.

While Tullis declined to comment on the specifics of his dealings with Ocasio-Cortez in an interview with the New York Post, he did suggest that the job wasn’t for those weak in the knees.

“We’re not hiring social workers,” he chuckled.

Blackwater, which changed its name to Academi, was founded by former Navy Seal Erik Prince to provide private military services and is well known for a 2007 incident where four contractors allegedly fired on Iraqi citizens unprovoked. In 2020, Trump pardoned the agents who claimed they were fired on first.

“Out of one corner of her mouth she is attacking the police and out of the other she is hiring cops who have gone private to protect her. So AOC, which is it?” Jon Reinish, a veteran Democratic strategist, told the New York Post.

Tullis explained that his involvement with Blackwater only amounted to a short stint early in his career in domestic security.

“Everyone says Blackwater and they think guys running and gunning and killing overseas, but that’s just not the true story,” Tullis said, “common everyday security stuff.”

The private security money for Tullis’ firm was a drop in the bucket to the more than $34,000 Ocasio-Cortez has spent from January to June 2021 for private security while telling the rest of Americans they don’t need anyone to protect law and order. Ocasio-Cortez sent New York-based firm Three Bridges, LLC the better part of the funds, and dropped $28,498 to the firm which claims to be “a new generation of the private security industry.”

Security & Investigation based in Houston got $1,552 to provide private security from a former Army special forces veteran for Ocasio-Cortez while she was in town.

“We got connected to [Ocasio-Cortez] through another representative that is a family friend of his,”  Owner Joe Orsak said.

The increase in private security spending comes after the left has dramatized fears of the so-called “insurrection” on January 6 in Washington D.C. where video footage seems to show that the Capitol Police Officers were actually opening the doors of the Capitol Building and inviting the protesters in.
