Civil rights activist Shaun King spends his days ostensibly being a champion for the poor and his nights living in the lap of luxury amid accusations of misappropriating charity funds.
King recently moved from downtown Brooklyn, N.Y., where he had a luxury 2 bedroom apartment to a 3,000 square foot posh home in North Brunswick, N.J., surrounded by trees. The home is complete with a gourmet kitchen and “a lakefront backyard,” according to a report by the New York Post.
King’s wife, Rai-Tonicia King purchased the home for $842,000 in November 2020 according to public records.
The 41-year-old left-wing activist has long been accused of his charitable activities not being on the up and up. More than a quarter of the funds raised by Real Justice PAC, amounting to over $600,000, were paid to just two consulting firms that were linked to two of the Real Justice PAC’s members.

King has also been a prominent supporter of Black Lives Matter but has been accused of misappropriation of funds after taking up collections for all kinds of woke political causes, like raising money for black families who had a family member killed by police. As it turns out, only peanuts went to the families and most of the money instead allegedly padded King’s own wallet.
Samaria Rice, who lost her 12-year-old son Tamir in 2014, has accused King of using her dead son’s name for his own benefit in a recent post on Instagram addressed directly to King.
“Personally I don’t understand how you sleep at night,” she wrote. “I never gave you permission to raise nothing.. Along with the united states, you robbed me for the death of my son.”
Rice, who has her own foundation in the name of her deceased son continued, “You are a selfish self-centered person and God will deal with you…”
In a joint statement with other mothers furious at the Black Lives Matter scam that seeks to profit off of other people’s loss Rice wrote, “We never hired them to be the representatives in the fight for justice for our dead loved ones murdered by the police. The ‘activists’ have events in our cities and have not given us anything substantial for using our loved ones’ images and names on their flyers.”
Justice Together, a former social justice group King founded, ended abruptly and former members published an open letter criticizing King’s “lack of accountability.”
“He silenced dissent without productive discussion, he removed volunteers for speaking up due to his self-proclaimed paranoia, he repeatedly failed to meet his own timelines for his participation in the work, and he failed to delegate or discuss internally anything of consequence with the organization,” wrote the coalition’s former members.
A woman allegedly pledged a recurring $50 per month donation to another of King’s so-called charities called Justice, That’s All which she alleged continued to charge her even after the charity went belly up in mid-2015.
“I just wanted to know how he was using the funds that had been auto donated,” the donor Javachik tweeted in 2018. Apparently, when she questioned King on Twitter, he blocked her. “And then for the next month, my mentions were filled up with people calling me racist, a b—ch, etc.”
