North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn vowed on Thursday that National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci will face substantive “consequences” if and when Republicans retake the House in 2022.
He made the promise while speaking on attorney Jenna Ellis’s “Just the Truth,” a show produced by the Real America’s Voice (RAV) online news network.
During the course of his discussion with Ellis, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s plan to refer Fauci to the Department of Justice for a criminal investigation came up as a topic. Cawthorn expressed support for his colleague’s move but also admitted that it likely won’t amount to anything under this administration.
“Unfortunately, the DOJ right now is under the control of the Biden administration. So what will come of it? I don’t know,” he said.
He promised, however, that if and when Republicans retake the House in 2022, he’ll ensure that justice is meted out for Fauci.

“But I tell you, when we take the majority back in 2022, I’ll make sure consequences are doled out. We want to prosecute this guy to the full ability of the law,” he said.
“Because I tell you, to lie to the American people just to get your name in the news, just to see your face on the cover of books, just to get fame and fortune — Dr. Anthony Fauci does not deserve either fame or fortune,” added Cawthorn, who called out first lady Jill Biden this week “for being so cruel to her husband.”

According to the North Carolina congressman, the justification for prosecuting Fauci runs deep.
“You can just go back and very simply look through the clips of Dr. Fauci speaking back in May or even subsequent months after that, and you can tell he has directly lied to Congress,” he said.
Multiple times, to boot.
“And so when Dr. Rand Paul gave him the opportunity to actually recant his statement, he declined, and then when Rand Paul started pressing him further and said there will be consequences for those responsible … you see his hands start to shake uncontrollably,” Cawthorn continued.
This is true. In fact, the hand-shaking generated a lot of attention on social media.
Look:
While @RandPaul interviews the known liar Dr Fauci – Fauci is literally shaking.
He’s been outed. Dr Fauci has no credibility. He’s imploded. And he has made the situation worse. pic.twitter.com/nrE9pldEfm

Fauci is a habitual liar imo. There is video of the mans hands shaking wildly as he is being questioned. His response and body language shows 100% he is lying through his teeth.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Dr. Fauci was literally shaking. Literally. He lied to Congress and anyone who dissents, disagreed only on detail. Fauci crying that the research Paul mentioned wasn’t the pandemic research. Does not matter. Fauci knew of funding for “gain of funding” research. He lied.

Rand Paul is pursuing it, and very effectively too. Fauci was shaking at his interrogation. Basically it’s a gain of function disease I.E. man made.

Why was he shaking so uncontrollably? Some say it was “uncontrollable rage,” but according to Cawthorn, that’s not the truth.
“That is fear. Because Dr. Fauci knows he’s been working as a pawn of the Chinese Communist Party. He’s been funding through the NIH with our tax dollars what I consider to be militaristic research on how to make an animal virus more transmissible to humans,” he explained to Ellis.
Militaristic research known as “gain of function.” This research is suspected to be behind the creation of the coronavirus and its leaking to the public and thus the triggering of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.
At issue is whether NIAID funded “gain of function” research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China, which is where the virus is suspected to have originated from.
Fauci has repeatedly claimed the answer is no, but Paul has repeatedly shown evidence to the contrary.
Even Josh Rogin, a left-wing media figure who works for The Washington Post and CNN, sees the writing on the wall:
Hey guys, @RandPaul was right and Fauci was wrong. The NIH was funding gain of function research in Wuhan but NIH pretended it didn’t meet their “gain of function” definition to avoid their own oversight mechanism. SorryNotSorry if that doesn’t fit your favorite narrative.

So does Trump era Assistant Secretary for Health Adm. Brett Giroir
“What they did fund was exactly what Rand Paul said. They funded researchers to go hundreds of miles away into the back of bat caves, extract dangerous viruses from bats that have never been seen by humans before, and bring them to a city of 10 million people in the Wuhan lab,” he said Wednesday on Fox News.
“Next, they chopped up those viruses and created new Frankenstein viruses to see if they could infect human cells. That may not technically be ‘gain of function research,’ but it’s dangerous research, and Senator Paul’s questions deserve to be answered,” he added.
Fauci apparently disagrees …
