The Vagina Museum — and yes, that’s a real thing — is facing heat on social media for demanding that people basically deny the existence of the vagina, because acknowledging its existence isn’t fair to “transgender women.”
On Thursday, the four-year-old British museum specifically posted tweets instructing people to stop using words that clearly reference the biological realities of femininity, because doing so allegedly isn’t “inclusive.”
Look:
If you’re still with us and feeling inspired by this discussion, the good news is that it’s actually quite easy to adapt your language and be more inclusive!
— Vagina Museum (@vagina_museum) July 15, 2021
I think there are three important things to consider when trying to be more inclusive:
1) Make sure you’re not encouraging shame
2) Remember it’s not just cisgender women who menstruate
3) Being inclusive means considering other people’s circumstanceshttps://t.co/8QmBdWhmWB— Vagina Museum (@vagina_museum) July 15, 2021
As we’ve discussed today, it’s time for us to evolve beyond shame-fuelled and gender-specific language when talking about periods.
— Vagina Museum (@vagina_museum) July 15, 2021
Throughout this entire thread I have used inclusive and shame-free language.
I also wrote an entire book free of gendered language. It’s really that easy! https://t.co/fwvr7c6uEi

Here are some really easy changes you can include in your language moving forward.
Instead of ‘sanitary products’, say ‘menstrual products’
Instead of ‘feminine hygiene products’, say ‘period products’
Instead of ‘becoming a woman’, say ‘starting puberty’— Vagina Museum (@vagina_museum) July 15, 2021
Instead of ‘women’s health’, say ‘reproductive health’ or ‘gynaecological health’ (whatever you prefer)
Instead of ‘women and girls’, say ‘people who menstruate’ or ‘people who have periods’— Vagina Museum (@vagina_museum) July 15, 2021
The bizarre instructions fit within a demonstrable pattern of far-left “transgender” advocates prioritizing the interests of biological men who identify as “transgender” over the interests of biological women and girls.
For instance, the museum urged people to refer to “period products” instead of “feminine hygiene products,” because God forbid a biological male who identifies as “transgender” feel discriminated against. Never mind that biological males are incapable of having periods because they don’t have a vagina.
These incontrovertible biological facts never seem to matter to “transgender” advocates, but they certainly do to biological women who already have to contend with misogyny from men but weren’t expecting to face it from the Vagina Museum:
I am a woman. I don’t want to be removed. I want to exist. I want my health care to mention me as a woman. Why am I being erased? It. Is. Blatant. Misogyny.

There is no shame in the word ‘woman’ apart from the shaming YOU and your ilk are attempting. Women’s health is a sex-based requirement. Trans women have other issues that need naming and addressing. And where’s all the twisted language for men’s health? Pure misogyny.

This is the most dehumanising, female hating tweet I’ve ever seen. I wish you were half as disgusted with yourselves as I am with you. Utterly shameful misogyny
— Tiberius Kirk 🇬🇧 (@TibbyKirk) July 18, 2021
No….I’m a woman. You will not remove me. This is peak misogyny
— dumpsterfire21 (@20dumpsterfire) July 18, 2021
You’re normalizing misogyny Vagina Museum. And no, I will not eliminate gendered language. We need it to have some semblence of objective reality here or we are going to completely lose ourselves in gender dysphoria disorders. Please stop. You are hurting women, especially girls.
— Victorious🌺 (@victorious_chi) July 17, 2021
Why are you trying to shame women? We are not ashamed of being women and we’re happy to own it.
Stop trying to make woman a dirty word.
Used to think you were a good thing, now realise you’re owned by the patriarchy.#Incel #Misogyny #ShamingWomen #PartOfTheProblem— Moth (@Moth74013415) July 17, 2021
My daughters don’t have their periods yet. My mum has stopped hers. Should I call my girl “person who hasn’t started her period yet” and my mum “a person who has stopped having her period”? Is it ok to call my mum a mum or should I call her my person who gave birth to me?🙄 pic.twitter.com/sy1XkN8dEk

To be fair, the museum practically admits in its online “About Page” that, despite being named after a female body part, it has little to do with women.
The page specifically contains radical dogma about the need to “challenge heteronormative and cisnormative behaviour” and serve “as a forum for feminism, women’s rights, the LGBT+ community and the intersex community.”
It’s not clear what erasing women has to do with women’s rights …
(*Language warning)
How about FUCK OFF!!!
There is always some group trying to take away WOMEN’S rights.
Usually men or people who used to be men.
No!! Fucking stop it!! “Women” have a RIGHT to be called women!! We’ve earned it!!! Ever heard of the suffragettes???— Molly (@AnimalMagic13) July 18, 2021
Maybe I have the wrong type of vagina for this organisation, despite their claim to be promoting women’s rights?
Or perhaps I have opinions that people with vaginas are not supposed to have?
Either way @vagina_museum my opinions are worthy of respect in a democratic society pic.twitter.com/Izh0sYbjmi— Ms Cree Ant 💙 (@CreeAnt) July 18, 2021
If anything, the museum appears to be dedicated to trans “rights,” or rather what the “transgender” community believes their rights should be.
These alleged “rights” include rewriting the English language, invading women’s sports and even exposing children to male genitalia:
Woman loses it over biological male in day spa w/children: ‘I see a d*ck. That lets me know he’s a man!’ https://t.co/YHFzKKKD3k
