To suggest that the fix was in on the 2020 presidential election is sure to get a person ridiculed as a conspiracy theorist or even worse, a nut, but a growing preponderance of evidence makes it harder and harder to rule out the possibility.
It was bad enough to see Facebook and Twitter make quick work of stopping the dissemination of a breaking story about Hunter Biden’s dubious business dealings in Ukraine in the days leading up to the election, but there is a report out this week that the top federal prosecutor in Delaware paused a criminal investigation of President Joe Biden’s son ahead of the election to keep the public from learning about it.
Federal officials in Delaware were investigating Hunter Biden last year and reached a point over the summer where search warrants and grand jury subpoenas could have been issued, according to Politico.
In doing so, officials would have almost certainly alerted the media, if not the public at large.
More from Politico:
Some officials involved in the case wanted to do just that. Others urged caution. They advised Delaware’s U.S. Attorney, David Weiss, to avoid taking any actions that could alert the public to the existence of the case in the middle of a presidential election.
“To his credit, he listened,” said a person involved in the discussions, reported here for the first time. Weiss decided to wait, averting the possibility that the investigation would become a months-long campaign issue.
The justification behind the action was to prevent the issue from impacting the 2020 election.
“Concerns about affecting the presidential election loomed large when Weiss entertained arguments about advancing the probe, according to the person involved in the discussions,” Politico reported. “No matter what he did, the decision was sure to come under scrutiny for signs of politicization.”
Somehow, skeptics are certain to doubt whether the same concern would have been there if the subject had been Donald Trump Jr.
After the election Hunter Biden volunteered that he was under federal investigation, saying in December that it involved potential tax crimes. The probe is reportedly also looking into his business dealings with foreign interests.
Weiss, a Republican, was appointed by President Trump, after being recommended by Delaware’s two Democratic senators. Thus far, Biden has left him in position, and the investigation is ongoing.
Or is it? It’s eight months since the election, so where are the search warrants and grand jury subpoenas?
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from skeptical social media users on Twitter:
The rule of law and law & order is nowhere to be seen in the country or in these libs vocabulary when it’s they who call the shots. Bunch of hypocrites.
Even Twitter interfered during the election by suppressing critical stories about Hunter Biden’s scandals.

Seems almost quaint at this point given that nobody was allowed to talk about it anyway.

These are surely the deeds of innocent men, fighting for a better America.

So when will it be unpaused?

Given the history of non-prosecution (or at best wrist-slapping) of prominent people on the left who commit crimes, you’d have to be pretty gullible to think this “investigation” was ever going anywhere.

It seems to be still paused…. oh wait, they “lost” his computer…. It is very sad to have lost faith in the FBI.
