Members of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus are facing fierce backlash for publishing a music video in which they vow to “convert your children … bit by bit.”
Titled “A Message From the Gay Community,” the music video begins with a narrator claiming that the battle for so-called “equal rights” isn’t over.
“As we celebrate Pride and progress we’ve made over these past years, there’s still work to be done. So to those of you out there who are still working against equal rights, we have a message for you,” the narrator says.
It’s not clear what other “equal rights” the group seeks. They already possess all the exact same rights as every other American.
The actual song then begins.
Watch a copy of the since-deleted video below:
Right from the get-go, the lyrics are shocking:
You think we’re sinful
You fight against our rights
You say we all lead lives you can’t respect
But you’re just frightened
You think that we’ll corrupt your kids
If our agenda goes unchecked
Funny, just this once, you’re correct
We’ll convert your children
Happens bit by bit
Quietly and subtly
And you will barely notice it
You can keep them from disco
Warn about San Francisco
Make ’em wear pleated pants
We don’t care
We’ll convert your children
But it’s not specified what exactly they’ll convert “your children” to.
Later in the song, they sing about making children “tolerant and fair” and teaching “them not to hate.”
It’s not clear whether they’re aware that the gay community can itself be extremely hateful, especially toward those with dissenting views.

The song eventually reaches a stunning climax in which members of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus claim that not only will they convert “your children,” but they’ll teach your children to convert other children — and, eventually, “you.”
Look:
We’re coming for them
We’re coming for your children
We’re coming for them
We’re coming for them
We’re coming for your children
For your children
Your children will care about
Fairness and justice for others
Your children will work to convert
All their sisters and brothers
Then soon we’re almost certain
Your kids will start convertin’ you!
By Wednesday evening, the video was long gone from the chorus’s YouTube page. However, copies had popped up all over the place, including on Rumble, a conservative-owned video-sharing platform that’s safe from left-wing censorship.
Thanks to these copies, the video went viral and provoked a backlash, a surprising amount of it from members of the gay community who were “appalled” by the video.
Look:
Can you confirm or deny that these are indeed lyrics from a song sung by your group? I’m a gay man who finds this extremely disturbing. How dare ANYONE OR GROUP sing a song about “going after someone’s children”? If true, this is disgusting & reprehensible!! pic.twitter.com/22p1Woft4I

Most gay people just want to get on with life, these guys are freaks.

as a gay man I only ask this of you, can you please leave the children alone?
— Sethyr (@Sethyr5) July 8, 2021
Disgusting. I’m gay and I’m appalled.

@SFGMC I have just seen a video of your chorus saying “they want our children” wtf you doing tarring all gay men as pedophiles. Stop this nonsense now. We gay men do not want to be harassed because you lot like and support kiddy fiddlers.

Furthermore, one critic claimed that one of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus members who’d participated in the video is a child molester.
As proof, the critic pointed to an “Offender Profile” of someone named David Eugene Wallace and drew attention to the facial likeness of the offender and the chorus member.
There was just one problem. The chorus’s roster shows that there’s no David Eugene Wallace in the group. There’s only a David Shawn Wallace, and there’s no evidence at this time to suggest that this Wallace is the same Wallace highlighted below:

The fiercest backlash to the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus came, of course, from parents who were hellbent on stopping their kids from being indoctrinated.
Look:
Singing about grooming your kids does a tremendous disservice to the gay community and they should not be surprised if this results in less acceptance. I don’t give a crap what you do as an adult but as a parent I draw the line at pedophilia. pic.twitter.com/qjAA74YKG2

@SFGMC since you deleted the original, perhaps come here for the feedback on your paedo performance.
Try convert my kids to anything and I will convert you into history.

@sfgmc “You’re coming for my children”? This could get messy. I’d think twice.

As of Thursday morning, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus had yet to explain itself.
