‘Activist’ reporter April Ryan falsely tells WH voting rights have ‘collapsed’ in America

The left in America lives in a world of their own making, and they reserve the right to create their own facts to support that world.

Look no further than Tuesday’s White House briefing, when activist reporter April Ryan, a CNN political analyst, claimed that voter rights have “collapsed” in America.

Keep in mind that in the face of such a remarkable accusation, a record number of voters participated in the 2020 election, casting around 158 million ballots, according to a preliminary Pew Research Center analysis. That’s nearly two-thirds of estimated eligible voters. And while black voter turnout fell short of the historic levels seen when Barack Obama ran for office, it wasn’t far behind at 63%, exceeding Latino and Asian American voter turnout, according to the Brookings Institute.

“As voting rights is, I don’t know what you call it, collapsed? As policing is held up, there’s a call for reparations… there’s so many things that the Congressional Black Caucus is trying to push forward with their agenda,” Ryan said.

“Is this president concerned at this time about that and does he think this will bring more attention to those issues?” she asked. “Also in light of KKK members and white supremacists marching in Philadelphia over the weekend.”

(The alleged neo-Nazi white supremacist group Patriot Front marched in the City of Brotherly Love over the Fourth of July weekend, but Ryan’s claim of KKK members appears to be far-fetched.)

White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s response may have been just as remarkable.

“Well, I would say first that, as you know because you’ve covered it closely, one of the president’s key priorities, one of the key pillars of his presidency, is racial equity and updating and addressing what he feels are systemic issues in how we govern and in society,” the president’s spokesperson said.

The remark includes the progressive term “racial equity,” which is not to be confused with equality. Equity is a code word for preferred treatment, reverse discrimination. The goal being not to ensure equal opportunity but equal outcome — at the expense of white Americans.

Psaki’s reference to “systemic issues” is a furtherance of the teachings of critical race theory, which claims systemic racism is rampant in America and that white people are inherently racist.

Ryan then gave voice to the concerns of Democratic voters.

“Is there concern by this White House about what the Democratic base is feeling as they see voting rights stalled,” she said in a follow up. “As they see policing stalled, as they see the issue of reparations not moving as fast as they want and other issues?”

Psaki assured the reporter that Biden shares their frustration.

The emphasis on voters’ rights appears two-fold. One being a reaction to a number of Republican-controlled states passing legislation to strengthen election integrity in the wake of the 2020 election, which Democrats and their media allies falsely portray as voter suppression attempts.

Another frustration on the left is the “For the People Act” being stalled in the Senate. The media sells the bill as voter reform, but it’s more in line with a power grab by the Democratic Party, which gives the federal government greater control over state and local elections.

Here are a few responses to the story, including former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker responding to Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich pointing out that Ryan’s claim “is of course not true.”
