Target has become the latest victim of failed radical left-wing policies as the retail giant announced a change to operating hours in their San Francisco stores due to the overwhelming crime in the city.
Six stores in San Francisco will be locking their doors at 6 p.m., while it’s still light out, instead of 10 p.m. due to the severe uptick in thefts over the past month.
“For more than a month, we’ve been experiencing a significant and alarming rise in theft and security incidents at our San Francisco stores, similar to reports from other retailers in the area. Target is engaging local law enforcement, elected officials and community partners to address our concerns,” according to a statement released on Friday by the retail powerhouse. “With the safety of our guests, team members and communities as our top priority, we’ve temporarily reduced our operating hours in six San Francisco stores.”
“Seventeen Walgreens over the last five years, almost every Gap retail outlet is gone, CVS is under assault,” according to San Francisco Supervisor Ahsha Safai who also called the shoplifting situation, “out of control”
“People are scared to go into these stores: seniors, people with disabilities, children,” said Safai, who sits on the 49 square mile city’s board of supervisors. “And it’s happening brazenly. We can’t just as a city throw up our hands and say this is OK.”
But the change in-store hours might not solve the problem as thieves have been recorded blatantly walking into stores in broad daylight to pluck up their goods. One video shows a shoplifter jump the counter to steal an air mattress, right in front of the television film crew that had arrived just 15 minutes prior, before hopping back on his scooter and casually leaving the store.
Another incident, captured by a local Bay area reporter that just happened to be in the store at the time, shows a man load up a black trash bag with merchandise in plaining view of a security guard before fleeing the store on his bicycle.

Many attribute the rising crime to Proposition 47, a 2014 ballot measure that changed nonviolent larceny as a misdemeanor if the value of the stolen goods was under $950.
Commander Raj Vaswani, head of the San Francisco Police Department’s investigations bureau, said that violent crime is also on the rise.
“The one trend we are seeing is more violence and escalating – and much more bold,” he said. “We see a lot of repeat offenders.”
Despite the disturbing increase in crime and overall lack of safety in the city that operates as both a city and a county, the San Francisco District Attorney has prioritized other things, like the mandated use of preferred pronouns in its criminal justice system. It was just announced this week that witnesses and defendants will now be asked about their names and “identifying pronouns.”
“Here in San Francisco, we must, and we will,” said Chesa Boudin, San Francisco District Attorney on Wednesday at a press conference. “And we are leaders in modeling respect and modeling dignity and compassion, in all aspects of our society, including in our legal system.”
However, the city appears to pick and choose whom they “respect.” On one hand they “respect” those that request the illogical use of preferred pronouns instead of truthful and absolute biological ones, while showing complete disrespect for law and order, private property rights, and safety.
