Fox News host Tucker Carlson has argued that the federal government’s decision to not indict certain Jan. 6th rioters suggests that these rioters were FBI operatives.

“The government has thrown the book at most of the people who were in the Capitol on January 6. … But, strangely, some people who participated in the riot haven’t been charged,” he noted Tuesday on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“Look at the documents. The government calls these people ‘unindicted co-conspirators.’ What does that mean? It means that in potentially every case, they’re FBI operatives,” he added.

The “documents” he referenced is actually a single indictment document filed by the Department of Justice last month against 16 suspects. What’s odd is that the document also references two additional rioters but lists them only as “Person Two” and “Person Three.”

The documents show that “Person Two” stayed in the same U.S. Capitol hotel as fellow rioter Thomas Caldwell, a member of the Oath Keepers military, and even “stormed the barricades” with him on Jan. 6th. Yet “Person Two” wasn’t indicted.

The documents also show that “Person Three” was assigned to serve as the “quick reaction force” support team during the Jan. 6th riot. “Person Three” was also not indicted.

“‘Person Two’ and ‘Person Three’ were organizers of the riot. The government knows who they are, but the government has not charged them. Why is that?” Carlson asked during Tuesday’s segment.

“You know why. They were almost certainly working for the FBI. So FBI operatives were organizing the attack on the Capitol on January 6, according to government documents. And those two are not alone,” he then theorized.

Keep in mind that this is all speculation.

Carlson then noted that there are “upwards of 20” unnamed “Persons” in the indictment document, all of whom played a role of some sort in the Jan. 6th riot, yet all of whom were never indicted.

To him, this is surefire proof that the unnamed “Persons” are all government agents.

“So it turns out this white supremacist insurrection was, again, by the government’s own admission in these documents, organized, at least in part, by government agents,” he said.

His use of the term “white supremacist insurrection” was a reference to how both the federal government and its media allies have framed the Jan. 6th riot.

To bolster his theory, the Fox News host then drew attention to what FBI Director Christopher Wray had testified to the U.S. Senate in March.

“Are you shocked? You shouldn’t be. In March, the FBI director admitted the bureau is infiltrating as many dissident groups as it possibly could,” he said.

A clip from the testimony shows Sen. Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat, asking the FBI director whether the bureau had thought before Jan. 6th about trying to infiltrate the group or groups which, at the time, had been plotting the riot.

“Any time there is an attack, especially one that’s this horrific, that strikes right at the heart of our system the government, right at the time of transfer of power is being discussed, you can be darn tooting that we are focused very, very hard on how could we get better sources, better information, better analysis so that we can make sure that something that what happened on January 6th never happens again,” Wray replied.

To Carlson, this again was more proof that his theory is valid.

“Wait a second — there’s a huge difference between using an informant to find out what a group you find threatening might do, and paying people to organize a violent action, which is what happened, apparently, according to government documents, on January 6,” he said.

To be clear, again, this is all still speculation.

“There’s a line, and the FBI has crossed it. And that’s not the first time,” Carlson continued.

He then pointed to the infamous plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

“It turns out that one of the five people in the planned ‘Gretchen Whitmer kidnap van’ was an FBI agent. In the van. Another was an FBI informant. The feds admit that an informant or undercover agent was ‘usually present’ in the group’s meetings,” he said.

“In other words, nearly half the gang of kidnappers were working for the FBI. Remember the guy who suggested using a bomb to blow up a bridge as part of the plot? That got a lot of coverage. That guy was an undercover FBI agent,” he added.

However, reporting from the Detroit Free Press notes that what actually happened was that the conspirators sought to purchase “$4,000 worth of explosives to detonate the bridge from an uncover FBI agent posing as a sympathizer.”

Carlson was right though about FBI agents interacting with the group. As to what this means, it can be interpreted in many ways, though his interpretation was very clear.

“If you wondered why they’re always comparing January 6 to 9/11, there’s your answer. They’re using the same tactics. And a lot of us missed this the first time around. We didn’t see the obvious,” he said.

“If you empower the government to violate civil liberties in pursuit of a foreign terror organization, and there are foreign terror organizations, it’s just a matter of time before ambitious politicians use those same mechanisms to suppress political dissent. That’s what we’re seeing now. We should have seen it earlier,” he concluded.
