Fox News’s Tucker Carlson railed at former President Barack Obama Tuesday evening over a CNN interview in which he complained about white Americans who reject controversial critical race theory curriculum.
“Barack Obama spent eight years dividing the country along racial lines — you’d think that would be enough,” Carlson said as he opened the segment. “[That’s] more than most people do. You’d think he’d retreat to Hawaii and Martha’s Vineyard.
“But he is back to let you know if you have any problem with your kids’ teachers telling them that some races are better than others, then you, my friend, are the racist,” Carlson added.
The host was referring to an interview Obama did with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, in which he claimed “certain right-wing media venues…that monetize and capitalize on stoking the fear and resentment of a white population witnessing a changing America and seeing demographic changes” and make them fear that “their way of life is threatened.”

In the clip played by Carlson, Obama went on to mention critical race theory specifically, a highly controversial Marxist-based curriculum premised “on the theory of class conflict” as adapted to race, according to Battlefront founder Christopher Rufo.
“Who knew that that was the threat to our republic?” Obama said, mockingly.
“That guy’s a hater, for real,” Carlson said following the clip and before bringing on Horace Cooper, co-chair of the group Project 21, to respond.
“Every time there is a racial wound, it does seem like Obama emerges to inflame it — why not just retire?” Carlson asked, adding that he would offer the same advice to a former Republican president.
Cooper opined that Obama has long harbored resentment to his country even though he has done well for himself, including being elected to two terms as president in a white-majority country.
“And yet, in unguarded moments or even guarded moments, his impulse is to criticize who America is and what America stands for,” Cooper continued.
The analyst went on to say that Obama often “talks past” controversial race issues, making statements as though they are “true” and universally accepted when they are not.
“‘Bitter clingers,'” Cooper said, a reference to the way Obama characterized white, rural, Christian conservatives during his 2008 campaign as a way of calling them racists. “There are no such thing, and yet, he talked about it in such a way.”
“There is no evidence that as America has had a changing racial dynamic take place that we are seeing any outworkings that should alarm us or concern us,” Cooper continued. “And yet, [Obama] uses that ‘talking past’ technique as a way of ratifying his own perception about what America is.”
During his program on The First TV Tuesday, host Jesse Kelly made similar observations about Obama’s racial rhetoric as part of a larger discussion about the how left-wing primary education curriculum has, for decades, deemphasized “patriotism” and love for the country.
“I despise Barack Obama, much more than I despise any of these modern Democrats,” Kelly said in reference to Obama’s CNN comments. “More than anyone else, he ushered in this … cultural Marxist era.”
Kelly went on to say, too, that Obama spent his two terms in office “dividing up the country by race, by this, by that, America sucks, America sucks.”
“And now, of course, at a time when patriotism is at its lowest, Barack Obama’s out there doing sit-down interviews,” Kelly added before playing the same CNN interview clip.
