Hannity blasts Liz Cheney’s ‘psychotic rage’ against Trump to gain favor of media who called dad a ‘war criminal’

Op-ed views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author.

Sean Hannity metaphorically escorted newly minted political “martyr” U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney on a trip down memory lane after the Never Trump lawmaker made new friends in the corporate media in the midst of her ouster from the House GOP leadership.

“Now, my message to you, Liz, is have fun. I’m sure you have to love all the praise and attention you’re receiving, but remember, you’re receiving it from the very same people, the Democrats and the media, that called your father a war criminal,” the Fox News host reminded the Wyoming Republican in reference to her dad, G.W. Bush Vice President Dick Cheney. “Perhaps you’ve forgotten; I have not.”

As anyone who follows politics even casually is aware, the fickle liberal media has a history of temporarily faux-embracing and then discarding establishment Republicans who compliantly buy into various left-wing narratives and criticize other Republicans.

The pro-impeachment, endless-war champion Liz Cheney elevated this approach to new heights “after months of nonstop negative remarks about Trump and those who support him,” Hannity pointed out in his monologue embedded below.

In this thorough and concise takedown presented on his self-named show, Hannity seemed particularly incensed that Rep. Cheney, post-ouster, made a soft-landing at NBC News.

“Now the media mob and Democrats are treating Congresswoman Cheney like she’s some modern-day martyr. She is not. You see Liz, today you’re a hero; you actually gave me the first interview to MSDNC, NBC, the first exclusive. Wow, that’s the same network I believe, if we go back, yeah, it was referring to your dad as a war criminal and should be tried, and a criminal with Halliburton, and all sorts of other allegations. You may want to refresh your memory.

“Too bad, as a Republican leader, you never showed the same passion fighting the radical socialist Democrats that bribe Iranian mullahs, abandon our ally Israel, with the same type of passion and psychotic rage that you have against all things Donald Trump.”

Hannity then played a montage of clips that included liberal pundits and politicians disingenuously praising Liz Cheney.

“All right Liz, enjoy the sanctimonious ranks of the Never Trumpers. I’m sure you will love Joe’s new Green Deal socialism and his weak appeasement foreign policy that will make the world and the United States less safe and less secure. Let’s see how long it takes before they start trashing you and your father again,” Hannity continued.

The FNC host then went on to observe that any cancellation that might occur is in the hands of Wyoming voters.

“And by the way, for the record, you were not canceled. You were removed from leadership because you put your selfish agenda ahead of the party’s agenda, and the caucus fired you from your leadership position for your failure to lead the agenda. You will likely be canceled, but it will be the people of Wyoming that cancel you, but that’s not ’til Election Day

“You have plenty of time to soak in all the love from Democrats and your new friends in the media that were ‘so kind and so loving’ to you and your family and your dad and your mom, just wonderful people. Good luck with your new friends,” Hannity concluded in an ironic note.

Unless Liz Cheney has a cushy gig lined up at CNN or MSNBC (or at think tank comprised of so-called principled conservatives who never win actual elections), it’s difficult to understand why should she would throw away what is essentially a virtually guaranteed lifetime job in Congress.

President Trump implicitly used his Apprentice “You’re Fired” catchphrase when assessing Liz Cheney in a post on his webpage on Wednesday.

Liz Cheney is a bitter, horrible human being. I watched her yesterday and realized how bad she is for the Republican Party. She has no personality or anything good having to do with politics or our Country. She is a talking point for Democrats, whether that means the Border, the gas lines, inflation, or destroying our economy. She is a warmonger whose family stupidly pushed us into the never-ending Middle East Disaster, draining our wealth and depleting our Great Military, the worst decision in our Country’s history. I look forward to soon watching her as a Paid Contributor on CNN or MSDNC!

At this point, it is expected that U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) will take over for Cheney in the House leadership.
