Newt Gingrich: ‘As a historian… in my mind, there’s no question that those states were, in effect, stolen’ in 2020

Although the political and media establishment insists that no “widespread’ fraud occurred in Election 2020, former U.S. House Speaker and historian Newt Gingrich has a far different opinion of what occurred in several key swing states in which then-President Trump initially built a big lead on Election Night.

“I think we learned in 2020 and earlier that we have elections that are too easy to steal,” Gingrich told “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo on the Fox News Channel.

“In every one of the states that was really close that Trump lost, you had those kind of shenanigans, and you had state law violated in every single one of those states. In my mind, there’s no question that those states were, in effect, stolen. That doesn’t make the national media happy, but I think as a historian, people will find it’s absolutely true,” he declared.

As alluded to above, a significant issue for those who have raised questions about the outcome of the 2020 presidential contest is, and was, that officials in a number of states unconstitutionally bypassed the state legislature in enacting mail-in ballot measures.

This included, among other things, mailing out ballots to registered voters from notoriously outdated lists automatically rather than upon request. Even with a conservative majority, however, the U.S. Supreme Court was unwilling to take up the constitutional legal challenges on the merits.

That the vote count was stopped and then restarted in several decisive precincts has also raised eyebrows, to say the least.

Along these lines, on his new web platform, former President Trump himself recently triggered liberals last week when he wrote the following:

“At 6:31 in the morning on November 4th, a dump of 149,772 votes came in to the State of Michigan. Biden received 96% of those votes and the State miraculously went to him. Has the Michigan State Senate started their review of the Fraudulent Presidential Election of 2020 yet, or are they about to start? If not, they should be run out of office.

“Likewise, at 3:42 in the morning, a dump of 143,379 votes came in to the state of Wisconsin, also miraculously, given to Biden. Where did these ‘votes’ come from? Both were State Election changing events, and that is on top of the other corruption without even including the fact that neither state got Legislative approval, which is required under the United States Constitution.”

Bartiromo began the discussion by highlighting that states like Texas and Florida are tightening up their voting procedures. In that context, she played a soundbite from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton who said his office had to fend off 12 lawsuits filed by some large Democrat-controlled counties that wanted to distribute mass mail-in ballots (perhaps like Halloween candy) and without conducting signature verification upon receipt.

“Had we not won [in court],” Paxton recalled, “we would have been just like Georgia who decided to capitulate and sign consent decrees…” Democrats would have continued counting votes until they got their desired result, Paxton asserted.

Paxton was alluding to the deal inexplicably struck by Georgia’s GOP leadership with failed Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams that watered down voting procedures and wound up turning Georgia blue for Biden and, with two special elections, effectively handing control of the U.S. Senate to the Democrats.

Georgia has famously enacted voting reforms after the fact which has caused a meltdown among woke corporate America.

Reacting to Paxton’s comments, Gingrich registered agreement with the AG.

“What Ken just said is really important for people to understand. In a number of states, the Republicans were just plain out-lawyered. The other side did a better job. They set the rules of the game. The rules of the game were designed to do exactly what he said. Figure out how many votes the Republicans have and then hold the ballots open until you can get enough votes to beat him,” he said.

As far as Abrams’ expressed desire to run for president, Gingrich — who represented Georgia’s sixth congressional district in Congress — implied that she’s got nothing to lose.

“Why not? She’s already changed Georgia without ever being governor. She’s intimidated Governor Kemp, and she’s intimidated the secretary of state, so she’s dominated Georgia despite losing, and maybe she figures she will do the same thing. Of course, she will have to face off against Kamala Harris, who I think has her own ideas about who the first woman president should be.”

Earlier, in the discussion about the country’s lax voting procedures, Gingrich claimed that official Georgia presidential ballots were even on sale on eBay.

“When they tell you they were controlling the ballots, it’s just not true. This is a very open system. This is a system where people could cheat and did, and without getting into the argument about how big the cheating was, it was large enough that every American should expect that they have the right to vote and the right to have their vote counted.

“They have the right for their vote to be held legally and accurately, and they shouldn’t have their vote canceled by somebody who is cheating, and that’s exactly what’s been going on,” he told the Fox News host.

In the run-up to the January 2021 U.S. Senate runoffs, Gingrich appeared to be a prophet when he warned Republicans (who perhaps weren’t paying close enough attention) that they “have to turn out more votes than Stacey Abrams can steal.”
