In what serves as a perfect encapsulation of today’s woke Democratic Party, a white liberal female took center stage Thursday on a national TV show to condemn a black man for not understanding systemic racism.
The white liberal female being Joy Behar, co-host of ABC’s “The View,” who was criticizing Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., for giving the GOP response to President Joe Biden’s first address to a joint session of Congress.
“I have two things. One, he’s talking about railing against — I mean, he’s talking about not playing bipartisanship,” Behar said. “Bipartisanship is an obsession with the Republicans right now, that Biden is not reaching across the aisle. And yet, when he says — Biden — we’re on track to cutting child poverty in half and you look around the chamber and nobody on the Republican side is standing or clapping. Does that mean they’re for child poverty?”
She then set her sights on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.
“When he says that he wants clean water and Kevin McCarthy is sitting on his hands and not reacting, does Kevin McCarthy like dirty water?” she continued. “Maybe he should campaign on that. Dirty water for everybody. I thought it was brilliant — I thought Biden was incredibly warm and presidential and just great. To see those two beautiful, intelligent women behind him makes me feel like a — I just felt wonderful.”

As might be expected, the standard Behar applies here doesn’t come into play when Democrats sit on their hands as a Republican president is delivering the State of the Union.
Turning her attention to Scott, the first black senator to be elected from the South since Reconstruction, Behar proceeded to lecture him on racism.
“Now, Tim Scott, he does not seem to understand – and a lot of them don’t seem to understand the difference between a racist country and a systemic — systemic racism. They don’t seem to get the difference. Yes, maybe it’s not a racist country, maybe Americans, the majority, are not racist but we live in a country with systemic racism,” she said.
The reference to “them” up for debate on whether she was stereotyping Republicans or black Republicans.
“We discussed it this week already about housing and education and all of the things important to people, and the fact that Tim Scott cannot acknowledge this is appalling,” Behar said. “How can you go out there and say that when you just said two minutes ago that you were the object and the victim of discrimination? Then he says this is not a racist country.”
The remark perfectly captures the left’s insistence that black Americans are victims who must look to the likes of benevolent white liberals like herself for deliverance.
“At least acknowledge that there is systemic racism,” she concluded. “That’s what I wanted to hear from him, and he didn’t say it.”
If there was a theme to the reactions seen on social media, it may have centered on the question of “who exactly is they?”
Here’s a sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:

A white woman trying to tell a black man what racism is. As if we aren’t smart enough to know what the fuck racism is on our own terms. That’s rich.

Woke white woman lectures black man on racism. You don’t have to caricature these people. They are cartoonish on their own.

Why doesn’t @JoyVBehar quit @TheView so a woman of color can have a job and help stop systematic racism?
