‘F***ing scammers’: BLM co-founder in hot water after buying $1.4M compound in extremely white Cali neighborhood

A corporate entity controlled by Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Khan-Cullors has purchased a $1.4 million two-home compound in the secluded Topanga Canyon near Los Angeles, an area vastly dominated by whites.

The purchase is raising some eyebrows among many BLM supporters as well as some mocking and derision from the right.

Khan-Cullors, 37, founded the BLM movement in 2013 following the death of Trayvon Martin in Florida and is described as an “artist, organizer, and freedom fighter.” Her organization raked in some $90 million in 2020, much of the windfall coming on the heels of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis a year ago next month.

But because its finances are largely opaque, “it’s not clear if or how Cullors is paid by the organization,” the Daily Mail reported.

The purchase is being viewed as hypocritical on a number of levels. First and foremost, the area where the home is located is 88 percent white and less than 2 percent black, according to the most recent U.S. Census indicates.

Also, Khan-Cullors and fellow BLM co-founder Alicia Garza are both self-avowed Marxists who openly voiced opposition to capitalism.

“It’s not possible for a world to emerge where black lives matter if it’s under capitalism,” Garza said during an event in 2015, calling for the uniquely American economic model to be abolished. “And it’s not possible to abolish capitalism without a struggle against national oppression and gender oppression.”

Khan-Cullors, meanwhile, described the two of them as “trained Marxists” in an interview the same year.

“Myself and Alicia in particular are trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories,” she said.

Opal Tometi is a third co-founder.

As for BLM itself, the organization has called for the destruction of the “western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement” in a since-deleted passage on the group’s website.

Khan-Cullors’ new home “is only 20 miles from her childhood home in Van Nuys, but is a world away,” the Daily Mail noted.

In a memoir published in 2018, she wrote about being raised by a single mother with three siblings in “an impoverished neighborhood.” Their home was “a two-story, tan-colored building where the paint was peeling and where there is a gate that does not close properly and an intercom system that never works.”

But it is her organization’s mission and her own stated belief system that has earned her derision and scorn from critics.

“These people are f**cking scammers & capitalist state agents building wealth off state violence. We’re talking generational wealth off of the deaths & struggle of Black folks here. Justice Teams Network & BLM founder paid $1.4 million dollars for a home. This past week we bought a cot for our unhoused Black elder friend to keep him off the ground,” wrote left-wing “Abolition + Socialist” group Vallejo for Social Justice on Twitter.

“We’re talking generational wealth off of the deaths & struggle of Black folks here. Justice Teams Network & BLM founder paid $1.4 million dollars for a home,” another tweet from the group continued. “This past week we bought a cot for our unhoused Black elder friend to keep him off the ground.”

Sports journalist Jason Whitlock added: “She had a lot of options on where to live. She chose one of the whitest places in California. She’ll have her pick of white cops and white people to complain about. That’s a choice, bro.”

“Cullors identifies as a communist & advocates for the abolishment of capitalism,” journalist Andy Ngo noted.

Well at least it should finally be clear to everyone what a fraud Patrisse Khan-Cullors is. Rather than helping the BLM chapters, her brand of Marxism is buying a $1.4M home in an upscale liberal white enclave in Los Angeles! Being a #RaceHuckster pays! Just ask Sharpton/Jackson,” another critic wrote.
