‘I’ll buy her a pastry’: Arizona AG says Kamala refuses to come, Biden admin told him to ‘pound sand’

President Joe Biden tasked Vice President Kamala Harris with leading the administration’s response to the migrant crisis along the U.S.-Mexico border three weeks ago, but she has yet to visit any sector to get a first-hand look at the situation.

But it’s not as though she hasn’t been asked to visit.

In fact, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich invited Harris to come tour the border in his state, but he said Thursday she has yet to respond to him.

“I guess if you were a philosopher you would say no response is a very loud response because we’ve not received any response,” Brnovich told Fox Business Network’s Dagan McDowell.

He went on to say that in one of the state’s lawsuits against the Biden administration, Arizona is alleging the White House “broke an agreement they had with our office, where they were supposed to coordinate and provide us information, DHS was, dealing with immigration.”

“They told us essentially to pound sand,” Brnovich said, adding that the Biden administration simply canceled the agreement out of hand.

Upon taking office, Biden reversed nearly all of former President Donald Trump’s border enforcement and immigration agreements with Mexico and the Northern Triangle countries of El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Guatemala, which critics including Brnovich say has led to the current migrant crisis.

As for Harris, she has traveled the country since being named ‘border czar’ by Biden on March 24 but has not found the time to witness the crisis first-hand. She has traveled to a border state, however — her home state of California, including a visit over Easter weekend.

But she hasn’t even so much as held a press conference to address a situation federal immigration and local law enforcement authorities say is worsening by the day.

“Taking a California vacation on the taxpayer’s dime when there’s a humanitarian crisis raging mere miles to the south is cynical, weak and fundamentally uncaring,” Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said this week.

“Harris’ failure to do even the bare minimum – just showing up – is an insult to the people working overtime at the border to care for the thousands of unaccompanied children that are here due to her administration’s policies,” she added during a Fox News interview. “They are working under immense stress to provide some level of safety and comfort even as the system is stretched to the breaking point.”

McDowell asked Brnovich if the administration had done anything at all to help stem the migrant tide.

“Just the opposite,” he said. “I think that they have incentivized people to come over here illegally by halting all deportations. There are 1.2 million people in this country right now who have deportation orders.”

The state AG went on to say that additional policies put in place by the administration such as ending Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” program and the “public charge rule,” which means illegal immigrants can get access to taxpayer-supported health care and other benefits.

“If you were wanting to intentionally create chaos and undermine our national security, you would do as many things like the Biden administration is doing,” Brnovich added.

In a separate interview with Fox News’ Harris Faulkner, Brnovich said he would even buy the VP a “pastry” if she came to tour the border.

“This may be in our front yard today but it will be in everyone’s backyard tomorrow,” he said.

“I will buy her a pastry if that will encourage her to come here,” Brnovich added in a reference to GOP criticisms of Harris taking time to visit a black-owned bakery during a visit to Chicago this week while ignoring the border.
