Laura Ingraham: Karma bites social justice warriors over Georgia boycotts

Even aggressive opponents of the new Georgia voting law such as would-be governor Stacey Abrams have come out against an economic boycott of the state that could backfire mightily on constituents, Laura Ingraham asserted.

“It turns out that bowing down to the social justice warriors really is a dangerous and self-defeating strategy…what happens is Abrams sees where all this is leading. It would destroy Georgia’s businesses and actually could destroy her own political future,” the host of “The Ingraham Angle “on the Fox News Channel asserted about Democrat “lies” that compared the law to what was instituted during the Jim Crow segregation era.

In a monologue on her show, she noted that liberal U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff also opposes a boycott of the state in the aftermath of MLB’s decision to pull the 2021 All-Star Game from the Atlanta Braves home stadium in Cob Country, Georgia, in suburban Atlanta, after Gov. Brian Kemp signed the measure into law.

The White House is also apparently trying to walk back Biden’s pandering support of the move after he initially jumped on the “punish Georgia train.”

“These left-wing boycotts of the All-Star Game or, frankly, any other event or product, would cause huge economic damage and send jobs to other low-tax states. They’ll hurt Georgia,” Ingraham continued. “So the blowback against this is growing.”

According to some estimates, the Atlanta area could lose $100 million in tourism revenue as a result of MLB’s decision.

The end game, as it were, for national Democrats in this scenario is to drastically water down any semblance of ballot integrity, Ingraham insisted, with the help of woke corporate America.

“But we all know what this is really about. This is about bullying corporations into supporting Nancy Pelosi’s massive election rigging scheme called H.R.1.

“The measures would override all state voting prerogatives and ensure a permanent Democrat majority from coast to coast. This would actually invalidate the votes of tens of millions of Americans through nationalized ballot harvesting, the elimination of voter ID requirements, and a lot more,” Ingraham explained.

Ingraham concluded her message by urging the GOP to stay strong despite pressure from woke corporations who themselves have succumbed to pressure from the fear-mongering, left-wing activist groups about voter ID or other measures.

“But the good news is, Texas is now following in George’s footsteps…the state senate passed voter integrity measures of its own. Well, and what happened then? Well, predictively, Dallas-based American Airlines and Dell Computer, they’ve already announced their opposition to the common-sense bill. That’s a really dumb move on their part,” she said.

“And going forward, I’m going to say this – I’m trying to say this every night going forward, every Republican lawmaker, not just in Georgia or Texas, but beyond, should put these companies on notice. A lot of them, by the way, do plenty of business in China, as we pointed out. They have no problem with that,” Ingraham noted.

“But you side with the vote-riggers who are lying about these reforms, and you will lose every tax break, every incentive every credit going forward. And if these big corporations think they’re going to get better results with Democrats in charge of all 50 states, good luck with that,” she said.

As alluded to above, MLB has reportedly just expanded its deal with China’s Tencent Video streaming platform to show a lot more games in that country, this despite the CCP’s rampant human rights violations.

Separately, many have pointed out that you have to show photo ID, such as a driver’s license, when picking up physical tickets at the will-call window at any MLB game.

Democrat-turned-Republican ex-state Rep. Vernon Jones, a possible Kemp challenger, has claimed that the reform law doesn’t go far enough, but is a step in the right direction, despite the divisive hyperventilating from the Democrats and media about Jim Crow 2.0.

In a statement, President Trump has essentially called for a boycott of the boycotters as MLB continues to lose market share because of the slow pace of play and lack of consistent action (which is an entirely other topic).

“Baseball is already losing tremendous numbers of fans, and now they leave Atlanta with their All-Star Game because they are afraid of the Radical Left Democrats who do not want voter I.D., which is desperately needed, to have anything to do with our elections,” he said.

“Boycott baseball, and all of the woke companies that are interfering with Free and Fair Elections. Are you listening Coke, Delta, and all!” Trump added.

The Republican-controlled Georgia House has already voted to rescind tens of millions of dollars worth of tax credits for Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines after the company’s CEO ripped the state’s voter identification law.

Apolitical New York Post sports media columnist Phil Mushnick also weighed in about MLB hypocrisy.

Now whom does this decision hurt? Racists, real, suspected or imagined? Or airport workers, hotel workers, restaurant workers, cab drivers, ushers, vendors and on and on? Those punished will be most in need of an economic kick-start, provided COVID-19 restrictions are eased or lifted. Brilliant strategy!

China is plenty good for our Olympic teams and Nike baseball uniforms, but Atlanta will not be suffered by big league baseball…And now MLB and the players’ union have established dangerous precedent as Political Action Committees when their their only business should be baseball.
