While South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem deserves props for wanting to take a moral stand against the cultural rot that’s increasingly coming to define the entertainment world today, when engaging with a vulgar rapper you can expect vulgarity to prevail.
And ultimately, Lil Nas X would live down to the expectations.
The rapper, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, has a new song out and the official video features him giving Satan a lap dance, before breaking his neck and taking the devil’s horns for himself. To promote the depravity, Lil Nas X collaborated with the streetwear company MSCHF to produce customized sneakers being billed as “Satan’s Shoes.”
The shoes are modified Nike Air Max 97s that feature a pentagram pendant and an upside down crucifix. They also include the Bible verse Luke 10:18, where Jesus says he “saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.”
Lil Nas is selling a limited edition 666-run of the shoe at $1,018 a pop, with the shoe number emblazoned on the side — the number is widely seen as the mark of the devil, or the antichrist.
Gov. Noem tweeted: “Our kids are being told that this kind of product is, not only okay, it’s ‘exclusive.’ But do you know what’s more exclusive? Their God-given eternal soul. We are in a fight for the soul of our nation. We need to fight hard. And we need to fight smart. We have to win.”

Further responding to reports that the shoes will also contain a drop of human blood, Noem tweeted that if anyone is going to be canceled, it should be the rapper and his satanic shoes.
“This is outrageous, disgusting and perverted and on #PalmSunday no less. Somehow @lilnasx thinks that Satanic worship should be mainstream and normal. I don’t think there have been better candidates to cancel than LilNasX and these shoes,” tweeted the Republican governor.
For what it’s worth, Nike was quick to distance themselves from the Satan Shoes.
“We do not have a relationship with Little Nas X or MSCHF,” the company said in a statement. “Nike did not design or release these shoes and we do not endorse them.”
Montero responded to Noem to tell her that she’s “a whole governor,” and should do her job and not worry about the cultural rot that he represents.
Understanding that he’s making a fortune from his music and vile stunts like this, the “whole governor” responded:
What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?

It was at this point that our hero, being outclassed intellectually and spiritually, opted to go vulgar.

Conservative pundit Candace Owens, fresh off her own battle with the queen of vile, Cardi B, responded to the controversy to insist that it’s not the media-induced white supremacy narrative that’s holding black Americans back.
“How stupid can we be?” Owens asked, citing the uncomfortable truth about George Floyd, Cardi B and the stupid shoes.
Making it clear that he could not care less about the black community, so long as his bank account is getting fat, Montero responded with these enlightened words: “don’t care and ur a flop.”

The more controversy the better for him. He’s laughing all the way to the bank as he quickly becomes a household name because of his depravity.
To further fuel the beast, the rapper released a YouTube video feigning an apology.
“OK guys, I see everyone’s been talking about this shoe, and I just want to come forward to say –” Montero says, before cutting to the lap dance scene in the video.

And while reveling in all the attention, that didn’t prevent Montero from playing the victim, being that he is gay.
He tweeted: “i spent my entire teenage years hating myself because of the shit y’all preached would happen to me because i was gay. so i hope u are mad, stay mad, feel the same anger you teach us to have towards ourselves.”

The real moral of the story here being you can’t shame the shameless. Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
LMAO- I remember when Nike pulled the shoes featuring the Betsy Ross flag for being “too controversial” and “offensive” and now they are marketing “Satan Shoes” with “human blood”. We really do live in stupid times… https://t.co/UH23F5bFGS

Weak men are influenced by Satan. It takes a very insecure person to glamorize hell. You are only concerned with fame and money. I pray for your soul.

The people defending “Satan shoes” by saying they’re just shoes are the same people who cried about Maga hats for four years. All of a sudden it’s just clothing huh🤔

Man this guy finessed everyone with his wholesome country hip-hop song and now he’s promoting Satan. Nah I’m good with this. Cancel this shit.
