While it doesn’t take a rational viewer long to determine that CNN is a network heavily biased to the left, it’s not so much that they are prejudiced against the right as much as it is their arrogance in billing themselves as a “trusted” news source.
The term “Fake News CNN” became popular under former President Donald Trump, who frequently called the network out for its reporting, and never has their credibility been as wavering as it did once CNN President Jeff Zucker embarked on a Trump-hating agenda. A four year campaign of all but dedicating 24/7 coverage to tarnishing the former president — a campaign that paid dividends in November 2020.
And it doesn’t help matters when one of CNN’s former contributors comes forward to flat out accuse them of having their thumb on the scale.
Doug Heye, who spent 5 years with CNN, according to his LinkedIn profile, responded to a CNN Politics tweet about Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, receiving the JFK “Profile in Courage” award for being the only Republican senator to vote for Trump’s conviction during his first impeachment trial.
“This is the kind of bad tweet that discredits good journalists and gives evidence that a thumb is on the scale,” Heye tweeted.

It was the latter part of the tweet that Heye took exception to, which said the award “comes at a time when Romney is not holding the GOP accountable for restricting voting rights.”
In effect, the network is browbeating Romney into speaking in support of the media-induced Democratic narrative that legislative efforts ensuring voter integrity amount to voter suppression.
Voting in America has never been as wide open and free as it is today, and the claim that maintaining order to ensure votes cast are legal somehow equates to restricting minorities from voting is simply not true.
Even when repeated by the president of the United States, it’s a lie.
President Joe Biden responded to Georgia recently passing a voting reform bill to call it “a blatant attack on the right to vote, the Constitution, and good conscience. It’s Jim Crow in the 21st Century — and it must end.”
The Georgia voting law — like so many others being pursued by Republicans in statehouses across the country — is a blatant attack on the right to vote, the Constitution, and good conscience.

Of course, for Democrats, all it takes for them to play the dog-eared race card is to propose the logical, common sense measure of requiring an ID to vote.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., put it all into perspective Sunday in an appearance on Fox News.
“To my friends in Georgia, they had the highest turnout in the history of Georgia. We had 150 million something people vote,” Graham stated. “So every time a Republican does anything, we’re a racist. If you’re a white conservative, you’re a racist. If you’re a black Republican, you’re either a prop or Uncle Tom. They use the racism card to advance a liberalism agenda and we’re tired of it.”
We live in a time where up is down and bad is good, and vice versa. Meaning CNN does what it does because there’s a market for it — based on their ratings, a shrinking market.
As seen in the tweet here, some buy into the propaganda because they’re hearing what they want to hear:
Should there not be a thumb on the scale about voter suppression?

On the other hand, others know propaganda when they see it — here’s a sampling of some of those responses from Twitter:
It’s not just a tweet. The article’s first paragraph makes the same polemical point. https://t.co/sXQ3E3Rcn2

100%. It’s saying that Dem positions are good and that GOP positions are bad. That’s a press release, not a story. https://t.co/WtISZcTHQX

What in the world is this absurd propaganda?
“Not holding the GOP accountable for restricting voting rights?”
How is this acceptable journalism? https://t.co/UNfYSQU3Zz

This is allegedly a news article?
Basically CNN is arguing that Romney doesn’t deserve the award because he’s still a Republican and doesn’t agree with their biased take on certain election bills. https://t.co/ONQlveda7d

But @CNN doesn’t have journalists. They gave up reporting straight news years ago. Name one that reports unbiased news. It’s opinion.
