‘Garbage speech full of lies from a senile person’: Biden’s address ripped on Fox Business Network

President Joe Biden’s first prime time address to the nation contained multiple lies, exaggerations and misleading claims, not that CNN’s “fact-checker” noticed.

In response, The Federalist co-founder and Fox News contributor Ben Domenech slammed the entire speech as nothing but “lies from a senile person.”

Speaking from the White House late Thursday on what was described as the “anniversary” of the coronavirus pandemic, the president outright rewrote history, recalling a fictional past in which the Trump administration had done nothing to stymie the growth and spread of the coronavirus pandemic in early 2020.

“A year ago, we were hit with a virus that was met with silence and spread unchecked. Denials for days, weeks, then months, that led to more deaths,” he said.

Even The New York Times fact-checked his lies, writing, “One year ago, on March 12, 2020, Mr. Trump delivered an address from the Oval Office acknowledging the threat and announced new travel restrictions on much of Europe.”

But not mentioned by the Times was that Trump’s CDC had issued a travel guidance about China on Jan. 6th and announced that they were developing a vaccine on Jan. 20th. Days later, then-President Donald Trump launched a coronavirus task force.

In the Times’ defense, at least it made an effort — unlike CNN:

Speaking on Fox Business Network’s “Kennedy” later Thursday evening after Biden had finished speaking, Domenech slammed the entire speech.

This is another garbage speech full of lies from a senile person who thinks that they’re in charge of America but actually isn’t running anything. And I’m not going to pretend otherwise,” he said.

The reality is that this guy who’s been trolled out to us as being the president of the United States, except for the fact that he hasn’t taken a single question for 50 days,” he added.

ABC News confirmed earlier that day that, by not holding a single solo press conference, “Biden has gone longer without facing extended questions from reporters than any of his 15 predecessors over the past 100 years.”

Listen to Domenech’s response below:

“[He] comes out here and says all these different things about his expectations for the future. He’s trying to defend a massive expenditure of taxpayer money, but something that’s not actually targeted in any real way and was supposed to lead to the reopening of schools across America,” the Fox News contributor added.

Indeed, every American with an income below $75,000 is now guaranteed a $1,400 check from the government thanks to an ostensible coronavirus relief bill Biden had signed earlier Thursday morning — regardless of whether they lost their job because of the pandemic. Meanwhile, no school-reopening stipulations were included in the bill.

Granted, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci had vowed that schools would reopen if they were simply given enough money, but Domenech isn’t convinced that’s actually going to happen.

“I actually don’t think it will. The simple fact is that Dr. Fauci told us ‘just pass this, and we’ll reopen schools.’ That’s not going to happen.”

In fact, it’s NOT happening. Hours after Biden signed the ostensible coronavirus relief bill Thursday, word broke that teachers unions in Seattle were continuing to delay the reopening of local schools.

“The first scheduled day of going to school in a year did not go as planned for Seattle parents and students. District officials planned to bring back kindergartners and first graders, but the Seattle Education Association refused,” as reported by Fox News.

During Biden’s address, he also claimed more Americans died from the coronavirus than died in World War I, World War II, the Vietnam War and Sept. 11 combined.

Fact-check: FALSE.

And he implied that the Trump administration, which as a reminder oversaw the development and initial distribution of the coronavirus vaccine, had failed to build up a big enough supply of the vaccine to cover all Americans.

“Two months ago this country didn’t have nearly enough vaccine supply to vaccinate all or anywhere near all of the American public. But soon we will,” he said.

According to the Times — and a bunch of other critics, some of whom may be seen below — this too was a lie.

“By the end of last year, the Trump administration had ordered at least 800 million vaccine doses that were expected for delivery by July 31, 2021, the Government Accountability Office reported. That included vaccines undergoing clinical trials as well as those not yet approved by the Food and Drug Administration,” the Times noted.

“According to Kaiser Health News, that would have been enough to vaccinate 200 million people with authorized vaccines, and more than enough for 400 million once all the vaccines were cleared for use. The current U.S. population is roughly 330 million. And, contrary to Mr. Biden’s suggestions, both administrations deserve credit for the current state of the vaccine supply.”

To be fair to Biden, perhaps he hadn’t been lying — perhaps, as Domenech had noted, he’d simply been “senile.”
