Not one to mince words, conservative activist Candace Owens on Thursday delivered a powerful rebuke of what she termed contemporary “black culture.”
In a stream of tweets posted that afternoon, she lamented how “black culture” has “disintegrated so quickly” as her community has pivoted its focus from “faith family & love” to “absolute debauchery.”
In one example out of many, she pointed to half-black rap star Cardi B, a woman who’s celebrated endlessly by mainstream culture and society for a song, “WAP,” she’d written about “how wet her vagina gets.”
Owens also noted how classic, family-based TV sitcoms like “The Cosbys,” “Family Matters” and “The Jeffersons” have been replaced by trash TV like “Love & Hip Hop.”

The person named “woman of the year” by Billboard is a woman who made a song about how wet her vagina gets.
What message does this send to young black girls?

To be clear, the fact that women like Cardi B exist isn’t the issue. Nor is the issue that she wrote a song about “how wet her vagina gets.” The world has always contained salacious material, from anime porn to whatever this is.
The issue is the rush by mainstream society — particularly white liberals — to celebrate the most debased behavior and prop it up as an example of what everybody else, particularly black children, should be emulating.
No joke.
Watch, for instance, as Cardi B attempts being a preschool teacher:
The video boasts over 100,000 likes from Americans who genuinely believe it makes sense to have someone like Cardi B interacting with public schoolchildren.
It’s all part of standing up to what leftists call “respectability politics,” i.e., the notion that good behavior and strong families should be promoted.
The term became especially popular during the uproar over young black men wearing their pants so low that one could see their underwear. The idea was that demanding that young black men pull up their pants was racist because it imposed societal expectations and norms of respectability upon them.
When CNN far-left commentator Don Lemon, of all people, came out against sagging pants in 2013, even he was accused of perpetuating “respectability politics.”
“On Saturday, Don Lemon listed five steps the black community must require black men to take to become respectable: Stop sagging their pants, stop saying the n-word, stop littering, finish high school, and have fewer children out of wedlock,” BuzzFeed, a mainstream outlet, complained on July 29th, 2013.
The piece went on to slam Lemon for his “respectability politics” and even compare him with then-Fox News host Bill O’Reilly. And all this just because Lemon recommended that young black men live better, more righteous lives.
Some people, particularly white liberals, are still incensed at him over the remarks:

Meanwhile, a piece published by BuzzFeed last year praised Cardi B for “WAP” and saluted the song for challenging the “respectability politics” of those who believe women should hold themselves to higher standards.
“‘WAP’ enters the pop culture landscape just as the respectability politics of male hip-hop icons like Jermaine Dupri and CeeLo Green have reemerged. In an August 9 interview, Green decried the work of women rappers, arguing that there’s a “time and place” for certain explicit sexual references,” the outlet bemoaned.
“The singer and rapper, who himself released a single called ‘Closet Freak’ almost two decades ago, told Far Out magazine that ‘A lot of music today is very unfortunate and disappointing on a personal and moral level. There was once a time when we were savvy enough to code certain things. But now music is shameless, it is sheer savagery.'”
It sounds as if rapper Jermaine Dupri has matured in the past 20 years, yet according to mainstream society, that’s bad — it’s even racist, perhaps.
In additional tweets posted later Thursday afternoon, Owens took aim at liberal black activists who donated to Black Lives Matter, only to have their money funneled to the white Democrats who comprise the majority of the Democrat Party:

They won’t get the money (obviously) but by next election cycle they will be back in the streets again rioting and looting on behalf of the same organization which will raise even more millions culminating in black communities still not seeing a dime.

Sadly, it appears too many in her community are busy defending sagging pants, “WAP” and other debauchery to even notice what’s happening.
Nor do they seem particularly concerned about how the promotion of bad behavior is engendering catastrophic consequences for their children.
