Ex-White House doctor calls Pentagon report that he drank, took Ambien, harassed staff, a political hit job

A Department of Defense report obtained by CNN levels some damning allegations against Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, while he served as the White House physician during the Obama and Trump administrations — though the media bills him as the “ex-Trump doctor.”

Jackson retired as a rear admiral from the Navy in December 2019, and filed to run for Congress in Texas’s 13th congressional district. He was briefly considered for Veterans Affairs secretary in 2018 under former President Trump. Many of the allegations in the report surfaced then as well.

CNN chief congressional correspondent Manu Raju shared details of the report on air Tuesday evening, with host Don Lemon referring to Jackson as the “top White House Trump doctor,” tossing out the word “scathing” on five different occasions — Jackson dismissed the report as a political hit job.

“Among the things that they conclude here is that he did make sexual and denigrating comments about one of his female subordinates to another subordinate,” Raju said of the DOD report.

“He drank alcohol with subordinates in violation of the White House policy. He took Ambien, prescription-strength sleeping medication, also in violation of White House policy, while he was taking care of the president,” he added. “And at the same time, concerns about creating a toxic workplace environment.”

The allegations of Jackson being intoxicated and making inappropriate comments about a female medical subordinate date back to the Obama years, in 2014.

Here’s more from the report, according to CNN: “Many of these witnesses described RDML Jackson’s behavior with words and phrases such as ‘meltdowns,’ ‘yells’ for no reason,’ ‘rages,’ ‘tantrums,’ ‘lashes out,’ and ‘aggressive.’ These witnesses also described RDML Jackson’s leadership style with terms such as ‘tyrant,’ ‘dictator,’ ‘control freak,’ ‘hallmarks of fear and intimidation,’ ‘crappy manager,’ and ‘not a leader at all,'”

Jackson told the network the allegations leveled against him are because he stood by Trump, saying that Democrats are trying “to repeat and rehash untrue attacks on my integrity.”

“Today, a Department of Defense Inspector General report has resurrected those same false allegations from my years with the Obama Administration because I have refused to turn my back on President Trump,” Jackson said in a statement.

Noting that he served “under three different Presidents of both parties,” Jackson was adamant that he takes seriously his professional responsibility regarding prescription drugs, adding, “I flat out reject any allegation that I consumed alcohol while on duty.”

“My entire professional life has been defined by duty and service. I’ve honorably served my country in the U.S. Navy, served patients who trusted me with their care, served three Presidents in the White House, and now I serve the people of Texas’ 13th District in Congress,” Jackson said. “I have not and will not ever conduct myself in a way that undermines the sincerity with which I take my oath to my country or my constituents.”

Of course, in the eyes of the media, Jackson’s greatest transgression may have been a refusal to go along with a four year long campaign of undermining President Trump.

Jackson drew intense scorn from the corrupt media establishment simply because he reported that Trump was healthy.
