CNN anchor Chris Cuomo addressed the sexual harassment allegations leveled against his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, on Monday, if only to say he will not be reporting on the story.
In a shameless effort that included a fatal flaw — that being to suggest integrity was in place — the hypocrite sold it as an attempt to avoid the appearance of professional impropriety.
This coming from a little brother who teasingly called his sibling the “Love Gov” on air.
“Before we start tonight, let me say something that I’m sure is very obvious to you who watch my show — and thank you for that. You’re straight with me, I’ll be straight with you.” Cuomo said to open Monday’s episode of “Prime Time.”
“Obviously, I’m aware of what’s going on with my brother,” he added. “And obviously, I cannot cover it because he is my brother.”

Cuomo went on to prop up his network, as if CNN was an unbiased news source.
“Now, of course, CNN has to cover it. They have covered it extensively and they will continue to do so,” he said. “I have always cared very deeply about these issues, and profoundly so. I just wanted to tell you that.”
As for big bro, his already bad year got a lot worse on Monday, when the New York Times reported on a third accuser coming forward after two former aides charged the Democratic governor with sexual harassment — and there’s a photograph.
Anna Ruch met Gov. Cuomo for the first time in 2019 at a wedding reception in New York City, and she said he pawed her and asked for a kiss. His brazen behavior in the crowded room left her “confused and shocked and embarrassed,” the Times reported.
The problem the younger Cuomo has is that he all but served as a one-man cheering squad for his brother in 2020 — over his handling of the pandemic, of all things. The irony being off the page given that Gov. Cuomo is now under fire for concealing the number of COVID-19 deaths in assisted living facilities.
Even more ironic, in an interview that aired a couple of weeks after Cuomo’s directive that sent coronavirus-positive patients into the state’s nursing homes, his little brother teased him on air, “I’ve seen you referred to a little bit recently as the ‘Love Gov.’”
This being in response to the governor supposedly going easy on former President Donald Trump.
“I’m wondering if that’s bleeding into your demeanor at all and making you a little soft on the president,” the “Prime Time” anchor said.
In a response that couldn’t be made up, older brother Cuomo replied, “I’m the ‘Love Gov. I’m a cool dude in a loose mood, you know that. I just say let it go, just go with the flow baby, you know.”
There was also a segment where Chris Cuomo teased his brother after the governor appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and gave his stamp of approval to his fans allegedly calling themselves “Cuomosexuals.”
“Do you think you are an attractive person now because you’re single and ready to mingle?” the CNN anchor asked. On air. Live.
But now that Gov. Cuomo is accused of sexual harassment by multiple women, Chris Cuomo informs his viewers that he can’t report on that.
All of which make one wonder who in the hell takes this network seriously?
Needless to say, the CNN anchor’s tap out didn’t fare too well online — there was even a recurrence of Cuomo’s infamous nickname “Fredo.”
