Actress and real-life martial artist Gina Carano is breaking her silence in the aftermath of being cancelled from her starring role in the popular Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Carano claims that she was bullied and being watched like a hawk for occasionally expressing conservative views on social media.
“I’ve been through so much, and I’ve seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that’s been taking place, and I saw it before,” Carano revealed.
Using MMA imagery, Carano also referred to “head-hunting” to allude to her bosses allegedly seeking an excuse to fire her from the show that is part of the Star Wars canon.
Disney subsidiary Lucasfilm parted ways with Carano, 38, who portrayed Cara Dune on the show, after a controversial and subsequently deleted Instagram post that apparently sought to compare Germany’s former genocidal dictatorship with the polarized political situation in contemporary America.
Although that post was ill-advised, Lucasfilm never took any action when another Mandalorian star previously tweeted out Holocaust imagery, however. to smear then-President Donald Trump.
Ironically, Carano says she found out that she was officially no longer part of the series via Twitter rather than being contact directly by studio executives.

Carano sat down with Daily Wire boss Ben Shapiro for an hour-long interview that just dropped during which she admitted that the unprecedented events of 2020, including the pandemic, got her interested in politics, especially as someone who knows what it’s like to be out of work for an extended period of time.
After she was let go, Carano quickly landed on her feet by signing a movie deal with The Daily Wire, an organization that seems to have taken seriously the quote attributed to Andrew Breitbart that “politics is downstream from culture.”
It was apparently a reference to transgender pronouns that initially prompted the ire of the cancel culture. Carano says the post was directed at the anti-free speech Twitter mob and not the transgender community. A few random tweets about face mask and voter fraud didn’t sit well with the mob either.
The actress specifically called out the politically charged double-standard that is in play in the way she was treated.
“They’ve been all over me and they’ve been watching me like a hawk, and I’m watching people on the same production and they can say everything they want, and that’s where I had a problem. I had a problem because I wasn’t going along with the narrative.”

“I’m not the only one that’s ever been bullied by this company, and I know that so deeply,” she noted about the politically correct atmosphere that permeates the entertainment space where only far-left opinions are acceptable.
“I could share a story which would turn things around in the media but I can’t because it would sell out a friend…Everyone is afraid of losing their job…”
Carano says given the situation, she had prepared herself to be fired at any time. “They’re making it very obvious through their employees who were coming for me, and so I was like, ‘I’m going to go down swinging and I’m going to stay true to myself.'”
She also mentioned that she knew the handwriting was on the email because a Disney staffer accidentally sent her an email that outlined the company’s deliberations about her fate.
Gina Carano also recalled that Disney/Lucasfilm engaged in some passive-aggressive behavior prior to her ouster by commissioning an artist to remove her character from promotional materials and put someone else in her place.
“It’s not clear whether she has signed an NDA [nondisclosure agreement] with Disney, which is common on major film and TV franchises,” Deadline Hollywood observed.
