Ingraham shares ‘blue state blues,’ and how Dem-run states pale in comparison to GOP-run Florida, Texas

Fox News host Laura Ingraham did an analysis of Democrat-run states compared to Republican-run states under the “unchecked Biden administration.”

The title of The Ingraham Angle segment — Blue State Blues — gave away the results, as Ingraham noted how Republicans like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem were “trashed” by the corrupt media for opening their economies too quickly.

“But the brave conservative governors did not wilt or cave to hysteria, they stood for liberty and common sense,” she said.

Ingraham displayed a graphic showing the states with the worst Covid death rates per 100,000 residents — New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, which are Democrat-run.

“The pandemic is practically over in South Dakota… they have herd immunity? I don’t know, but it doesn’t look like any lockdown was necessary there,” she said. “Daily cases declined 84% after peaking in mid-November.

“Now, naturally, long shutdowns meant big job losses and huge suffering across the country,” Ingraham continued. “While the national unemployment rate stands around 6.7%, the situation in California and New York — far worse.”

A graphic was then displayed showing the unemployment rates in the blue states, compared to the red states.

“Gosh, time to move to Sioux Falls. I will take freezing temperatures they are over lockdowns any day of the week,” Ingraham quipped.

In asking whether people would want to live in Florida or California, the Fox News host delved into some recent events in California, including reports that Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration hid key Covid data from the public.

“Because it was too complex for most regular folks to understand,” she explained.

Ingraham also noted that California taxpayers reportedly shelled out as much is $11 billion, perhaps as much as $30 billion, in fraudulent unemployment claim since the pandemic began.

“Then there’s the fact that California just happens to be more responsive to its inmates and illegal immigrants than it is to tax-paying, law-abiding citizens,” she said, running a clip of Newsom saying this was “one of our top points of concern.”

“Instead of common sense reopening of schools and churches, restaurants, small businesses, Gov. Newsom and liberal mayors, and school boards inflicted needless pain on California’s economy, on schoolchildren, and religious communities,” Ingraham said. “And they still had one of the worst Covid case records in the country.”

After observing that California banned all forms of fun, she reminded all of Gavin’s controversial dinner last year, where he ignored his own orders.

“And while the weather is great, we all love the weather in California, the taxes are grotesque. California, like other blue states, has an absurdly high individual income tax of 13.3%,” Ingraham said. “Meanwhile, in your other choice where you can live, Florida, things are open and looking up. Florida, like Texas and South Dakota, has no individual income tax at all.”

“While California is losing businesses to states such as Nevada and Texas, Florida is booming,” she added. “Its population grew at triple the rate of California’s from 2010 through 2020.

Turning her focus to a comparison between New York and Texas, Ingraham slammed Gov. Andrew Cuomo over Covid death reporting and hit NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio for how he “coddled the looters and rioters last summer.”

“If you love a state whose governor focuses on attracting, not repelling, entrepreneurs and families, then you’ve got to head to the lone star state,” Ingraham said, displaying an image of Gov. Abbott. “Illegal aliens gravitate to New York City for a reason.”

“By the time 2022 rolls around, we’re going to have a lot more in the way of examples of blue state mismanagement, decline, and corruption,” she said. “At the same time, we’re going to see how states like Florida, Texas, South Dakota, Wyoming, continue to outperform the slaves of liberalism. For anyone who cares about staying free and having a decent quality of life, the choice is an easy one.”
