Democrats move to screen military for extremists and white supremacists

Looking to exploit the storming of the U.S. Capitol earlier this month to advance a political agenda, Democrats are planning to insert language into this year’s National Defense Authorization Act to address “extremism” at the Pentagon and other federal agencies — the more cynical among us would call it a purge of Trump supporters.

That’s according to The Hill, which cited Rep. Anthony Brown, D-Md., who said that white supremacists and other extremists target members of the military — keeping in mind, of course, that for Democrats, voting for Donald Trump can equate to being an extremist.

The article reported on “the subsequent revelation that nearly 1 in 5 people charged in connection with the riot have some form of military background,” which appears to be the result of an NPR analysis of the more than 140 people charged so far that found nearly 20% have served, or are currently serving, in the U.S. military.

“The attack on our Capitol was an insurrection fueled in large part by groups that espouse the same extreme white supremacists’ views – groups that actively recruit veterans and from the ranks of our military,” Brown said in a statement.

“We must recommit ourselves to rooting these beliefs out of our ranks,” he said, “protecting our servicemembers from radicalization and ensuring all Americans feel safe serving the country we all love.”

In effect, because of the actions of 27 people, the Democratic Party wants to codify the screening of U.S. service members for extremism, beyond what’s already in place — extremism defined by them.

This falling in line with President Joe Biden’s declared war on domestic terrorism, a war that Democrats had no interest in when Black Lives Matter rioters were sacking American cities, or when their Antifa foot soldiers create mayhem in the streets.

But then, creating a crisis to justify action is a party trademark, aided and abetted by a corrupt media establishment.

Pushing white supremacy as a widespread problem, Brown, who sits on the House Armed Services Committee, is calling for the next generation of military leaders to “look like America.”

“We must better vet recruits for extremist ideologies, tackle the issues of white supremacy and domestic terror in an organized and bipartisan process and focus on ensuring our military academies are training the next generation of leaders that look like America,” the lawmaker said.

Given the recent screening of National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., for Biden’s inauguration — dubbed by some as a Biden loyalty check — we learned that a wide net is cast when looking for extremists. A net that snares harmless conservative groups like the NRA, according to OANN’s Jack Posobiec.

Rep. Stephanie Murphy, D-Fla., recently introduced a bill that would prevent anyone who took part in the so-called January 6 “insurrection” from obtaining or keeping a federal security clearance, The Hill reported.

The Security Clearance Improvement Act of 2021 conflates the violent assault on the Capitol with the peaceful rally held beforehand, which was attended by one hundred thousand-plus Trump supporters.

Applicants would be asked “whether they have ever been a member of, associated with, or knowingly engaged in activities conducted by an organization or movement —like QAnon — that spreads conspiracy theories and false information about the U.S. government… [and] whether they participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol or a similar “Stop the Steal” event, and the precise role they played in that event.”

This equating to a political screening that would flag those concerned about election integrity, orchestrated by the “ends justify the means” party.
