Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee responded to Vice President Kamala Harris celebrating the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade to remind the Democrat, “Abortion isn’t healthcare.”
From her official Twitter account, Harris marked the anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court case legalizing the killing of unborn children, linking to a statement from President Joe Biden and herself.
In the tweet, Harris spouted the established narrative on the left about “reproductive health care,” a phrase that helps steer half a billion dollars or so annually to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.
“On the 48th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we recommit ourselves to ensuring that everyone has access to care – including reproductive health care – no matter their income, race, zip code, health insurance status, or immigration status,” Harris said.

The White House statement announced that the administration “is committed to codifying Roe v. Wade and appointing judges that respect foundational precedents like Roe.”
The Democrats also hinted toward the possibility of taxpayer funded abortions, linking the killing of babies to race and class.
“In the past four years, reproductive health, including the right to choose, has been under relentless and extreme attack,” the statement said. “We are deeply committed to making sure everyone has access to care – including reproductive health care – regardless of income, race, zip code, health insurance status, or immigration status.”
Biden is also expected to revoke the “Mexico City policy,” which blocks U.S. funding of foreign nongovernmental organizations that perform abortions.
Former President Donald Trump reinstated the policy, which had been suspended by his predecessor, Barack Obama.
In addition to correcting Harris, Gov. Lee also called on followers to contribute to the Hope Clinic for Women, which provides a faith-based approach to pregnancies.

Fox News shared some pro-life efforts seen on the Roe v. Wade anniversary “aimed at reversing, at least in part, the controversial 1973 ruling.”
More from the network:
In Kansas, state Republicans on Friday pushed a proposed anti-abortion amendment to the state’s Constitution through the state House in an 86-38 vote, The Associated Press reported. The measure would overturn a 2019 state Supreme Court decision to declare abortion a “fundamental right” in the state.
In South Carolina, a proposal called the “South Carolina Fetal Heartbeat and Protection from Abortion Act” was approved by a state Senate committee on Thursday and sent to the full Senate for debate, the AP reported.
Alabama and West Virginia were among other states pursuing limits on abortion, according to the AP.
Social media users appear to agree with the GOP governor that the killing of unborn babies is not healthcare.
Here’s a quick sampling of some of the responses to the story from Twitter:
If you gave a 15 second moment of silence for every child aborted since roe v wade it would last for 28 years.
There are more abortions each year than the casualties in all US wars combined.
Abortion has become an act of convenience more than an act of necessity

If a procedure has no medical benefit to the mother and 100% of the time brutally ends the life of the other living human being involved, how can one call it “healthcare”?
— Jim Sano (@JimSanoBC79) January 23, 2021
Nobody is against reproductive healthcare. Be honest.
We disagree on the morality of killing our youngest humans at will despite no wrong doing on their part and their bearing no responsibility for their situation.

They create their own morality so they can call death good. And the simple minded just swallow the new morality and even defend it. When did we lose the ability to critically think about situations objectively. Healthcare and death are on the complete opposite spectrums. 😤

Abortion IS NOT healthcare. Your body, your choice? Who speaks up for the child that is being murdered? What about their body? Their choice?

Just remember. There are thousands of folks like me and my wife that did not vote for Trump, but are pro-ALL life, womb to tomb. That includes killing babies, and separating babies from moms at the border. Please don’t be so flippant about calling abortion reproductive health.

Sad that this is our approach. Seems that we need equal rights for the unborn children. Why can’t we put focus on preventing the creation of children rather on the elimination of them?
