Several videos posted to social media show how Washington, D.C., has been transformed into an armed military camp complete with checkpoints and zoned perimeters where access by the public is heavily restricted.

In one, a man who says he’s reporting to his job site early Friday morning provides images and commentary, showing intersections manned by military personnel believed to be with the National Guard, as well as military vehicles armed with light- and medium-machine guns.

Warning: Strong language

“It ain’t the police doin’ the checkpoints no more, it’s full-out military. Holy s**t,” he begins.

“I wanna show y’all something. See this?” the man says as he pans his camera to show military personnel and a Humvee parked in the middle of an intersection.

“I’m about to show you something very scary,” he continues, panning his camera to show what he described as “big checkpoint gates.”

“This s**t is f**kin’ crazy. This isn’t Metro PD, this isn’t the Secret Service or the Park Police,” the man added as he continued to make his way down a DC street in the pre-dawn light.

“These are Humvees with M-60s and SAWs (squad automatic weapons), and M-4s and they’re all loaded, and that don’t look like riot control to me, but check this out,” he said.

The man panned his camera to what he described as “personnel tunnels” bookended by barricades.

“Look at this,” he added, pointing his camera to a pop-up vehicle barrier spanning the entryway to one of the access tunnels leading cordoned zones.

“This is what our intersections look like now,” said the man before adding: “If you need all this to protect your inauguration from the people, maybe the f**king people didn’t f**kin’ elect you.”

Sawyer Hackett, a senior adviser and communications director for San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, wrote, “The state of America: we’ve garrisoned 20K troops at the U.S. Capitol and established a ‘green zone’ around Washington, DC to facilitate the peaceful transition of power.”

“Washington DC or Baghdad? Troops asking to see ID before you can LEAVE the city. Unreal,” another user wrote in posting additional video from former Trump White House spokesman and current Newsmax TV host Sean Spicer.

“You can’t really jam down the street ‘cause if you did, you’d still run into all these barricades,” Spicer said as he panned his camera to show them. “But literally, that’s unbelievable. I’ve never seen anything like this.”

“Here’s a look at DC right now. Massive street closures, barricades up at every block and what appears to be some type of security checkpoint. These are set up around the area,” tweeted Right Side Broadcasting Network with an accompanying video showing more barricades and checkpoints.

More than 20,000 National Guard troops from the surrounding area have been deployed to the streets of the nation’s capital ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration Tuesday.

Guard troops were deployed to Washington, D.C., last summer during BLM-inspired riots that threatened the White House as well as several monuments in the city. At the time, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi both blasted President Donald Trump for ordering them in.
