‘Let’s burn this s**t down!’ Leftist activist charged in Capitol riots, release damning FBI affidavit

John Earle Sullivan, a far-left extremist who participated in Black Lives Matter riots over the summer, has been arrested and charged in federal court for allegedly participating in last week’s storming/riot of the U.S. Capitol.

Following the riot, Sullivan essentially snitched on himself by flagrantly posting videos to his YouTube and Twitter accounts showing him inside the U.S. Capitol.

As of Friday morning, the day after his arrest in Utah, the videos remained active.

Here’s one below (*Graphic content):

The Department of Justice announced Thursday that Sullivan has been charged with “one count of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, and one count of interfering with law enforcement engaged in the lawful performance of their official duties incident to and during the commission of civil disorder.”

According to the DOJ, Sullivan allegedly, “wearing a ballistics vest and gas mask, entered the U.S. Capitol through a window that had been broken out, pushing past U.S. Capitol Police once inside.”

Questioned by the agency, he reportedly admitted “to filming and being depicted in video footage that shows him” inside the Capitol.

However, he claimed in a statement to Fox News earlier this week that he’d entered the Capitol to merely “document” the riot.

“There’s this narrative going around right now that Antifa was the people there causing the riots, causing the tension, they were the only people breaking into the Capitol, and I wanted to be able to tell a part of history and show that that was anything but the case,” he said.

Yet his criminal history and the testimony of his own family members belie this narrative.

Speaking with Salt Lake City station KSTU, Sullivan’s brother, James said Wednesday he believes his brother had not only participated in the riot but helped orchestrate it.

Sullivan’s arrest affidavit does suggest he played a role in fomenting the violence.

The affidavit speaks of a YouTube video in which Sullivan can be seen at the Capitol “telling a crowd, over a microphone, ‘we about to burn this shit down,’ ‘we got to rip Trump out of office … f–king pull him out of that shit … we ain’t waiting until the next election . . . we about to go get that motherf–ker,'” and then “leading the crowd in a chant of, ‘it’s time for a revolution.'”

The affidavit also speaks of how, once the rioters had broken through the first barricade around the Capitol Building, Sullivan egged on the mob.

He “can be heard in the video saying at various points: ‘There are so many people. Let’s go. This shit is ours! F–k yeah,’ ‘We accomplished this shit. We did this together. F–k yeah! We are all a part of this history,’ and ‘Let’s burn this sh*t down.'”

“Later, SULLIVAN’s video includes footage of individuals climbing a wall
to reach the plaza just outside the Capitol Building entrance. … As individuals are climbing the wall, SULLIVAN can be heard saying, ‘You guys are f–king savage. Let’s go!‘” the affidavit reads.

The affidavit also suggests that Sullivan played a role in the fatal shooting of Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt.

This extremist rhetoric fits with what’s known about Sullivan. Last summer he was arrested in Salt Lake City for felony rioting, criminal mischief, and threats of violence while “counter-protesting” a Back the Blue rally.

“Police allege that Sullivan committed riotous acts as a protest organizer where 80-100 protesters traveled on foot on roadways that blocked drivers who had the right of way, according to arrest documents. During the course of the night, two handguns were also brandished and one of the handguns was fired and struck a driver, who was making his way to Home Depot,” the Daily Herald reported at the time.

“In videos, Sullivan posted to Facebook and broadcast live; Sullivan is heard inviting protesters to join. Additionally, Sullivan and other protesters engaged in acts of criminal mischief while making threats of violence during the protests. According to the probable-cause affidavit, Sullivan is heard and seen urging protesters to block roadways, prohibiting motorists from traveling lawfully and freely.”

One of the videos reportedly showed Sullivan threatening a female driver and then kicking the door of her vehicle.

It’s also known that Sullivan is the founder of Insurgence USA, a far-left extremist group that had promoted a “Kick These Fascists out of DC” on the 6th.

The mainstream establishment media, which increasingly functions as nothing more than a propaganda arm of the Democrat Party, has predictably embraced Sullivan as one of the good guys.

CNN uncritically gave Sullivan a platform on the night of the riot:

Meanwhile, Rolling Stone magazine — known for its gushing profile of one of the Boston Marathon bombers — interviewed him for a puff-piece and then presented him to its far-left readers as a “civil rights activist.”

It’s not clear what dictionary Rolling Stone used to conclude that “civil rights activist” is a justified synonym for “domestic terrorist,” “insurrectionist” and “left-wing extremist” …
