In the aftermath of the riot at the U.S. Capitol, President Donald Trump stands accused by Democrats, RINOs, and the corporate media of various transgressions such as sedition, insurrection, and/or trying to engineer a coup after legally challenging the certification of the Electoral College vote in light of alleged rampant irregularities and statistical anomalies in Election 2020.
Thus, it comes as yet another apparent form of projection that the Democrats’ lead impeachment manager challenged the results of Election 2016 even though there was actually no evidence of “widespread” fraud, to use the media’s own talking point.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hand-picked U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) to head a group of nine impeachment managers. Raskin made the case for a Trump impeachment the first time around in the Ukraine controversy as a member of the House Judiciary and Rules Committee.
Raskin, a former constitutional law professor who represents a deep-blue district in Montgomery County area just outside of D.C., was one of the members of the so-called Congressional Progressive Caucus who objected to President Trump’s 2016 win. He even bragged about it on Twitter.
Unlike 2020, no U.S. senator from either party joined in the objection, however.

Raskin is also one of the lawmakers who tried to get Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to remove Trump from office.
In another brilliant decision, Pelosi named California Congressman Eric Swalwell, who along with many of his colleagues spent four-plus years pushing a fake Trump-Russia collusion narrative to undermine the Trump presidency, as one of the impeachment managers despite his alleged connection to a spy from China.
So a Congressman who had a relationship with a Chinese spy gets to be an impeachment manager? Make it make sense.

Swalwell who was penetrated by Chinese intelligence is still on the Intelligence Committee and is now an Impeachment Manager. The entire world is laughing at us.

No reasonable person disagrees that the perpetrators of the horrible violence by those who stormed the Capitol should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Parenthetically, many Trump foes described summer-long rioting across America as mostly peaceful protests, but now argue that the mostly peaceful pro-Trump rally in D.C. where the president exercised his constitutional free speech rights was an insurrection. Moreover, guilt by association generally has never been part of the American tradition, until now.
Although left-wing Twitter is fully on the Trump impeachment train and many of them claim that the January 6 universally condemned chaos at the Capital changes everything, others called attention to the apparent hypocrisy. Here is a sample of the reaction:
Their hypocrisy is unbelievable. From contesting past results, to the way they openly called for harassment, doxing, etc against Conservatives. Then stood by silent as it happened hundreds of times these last 4 years. What has happened to this country in such a short time?

Priceless – they KNOW this going in and just don’t care, because the TRUTH will be shielded by the media…and half the country will argue that it never happened.

This is bush league hypocrisy compared to Pelosi’s 2017 stolen election tweet.https://t.co/Z9uoahrAfW

Were you expecting hypocrisy to not be a part of the process? When you consider the four years of conspiracy mongering and “resistance” that culminated in this summer’s widespread violence, these impeachment hearings should include many more people than just the President.

But wait CNN told me that only republicans do this??? I’m confusion 🤨

To adopt Democrat tropes, he should henceforth be described as anti-democratic and trying to instigate a coup.

So are the Republicans who voted against certification seditious or not? Voting against certification in 2017 was fine, but voting against it last week is bad? I'm not talking about the riot, which everyone should unequivocally condemn.

What is the statute of limitation on sedition? Or did objection to electoral vote just recently become sedition?
