In the aftermath of the riot at the U.S. Capitol, President Donald Trump stands accused by Democrats, RINOs, and the corporate media of various transgressions such as sedition, insurrection, and/or trying to engineer a coup after legally challenging the certification of the Electoral College vote in light of alleged rampant irregularities and statistical anomalies in Election 2020.

Thus, it comes as yet another apparent form of projection that the Democrats’ lead impeachment manager challenged the results of Election 2016 even though there was actually no evidence of “widespread” fraud, to use the media’s own talking point.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hand-picked U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) to head a group of nine impeachment managers. Raskin made the case for a Trump impeachment the first time around in the Ukraine controversy as a member of the House Judiciary and Rules Committee.

Raskin, a former constitutional law professor who represents a deep-blue district in Montgomery County area just outside of D.C., was one of the members of the so-called Congressional Progressive Caucus who objected to President Trump’s 2016 win. He even bragged about it on Twitter.

Unlike 2020, no U.S. senator from either party joined in the objection, however.

Raskin is also one of the lawmakers who tried to get Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to remove Trump from office.

In another brilliant decision, Pelosi named California Congressman Eric Swalwell, who along with many of his colleagues spent four-plus years pushing a fake Trump-Russia collusion narrative to undermine the Trump presidency, as one of the impeachment managers despite his alleged connection to a spy from China.

No reasonable person disagrees that the perpetrators of the horrible violence by those who stormed the Capitol should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Parenthetically, many Trump foes described summer-long rioting across America as mostly peaceful protests, but now argue that the mostly peaceful pro-Trump rally in D.C. where the president exercised his constitutional free speech rights was an insurrection. Moreover, guilt by association generally has never been part of the American tradition, until now.

Although left-wing Twitter is fully on the Trump impeachment train and many of them claim that the January 6 universally condemned chaos at the Capital changes everything, others called attention to the apparent hypocrisy. Here is a sample of the reaction:

The House went on to impeach President Trump with 10 Republicans joining Democrats.
