Airline defends pilot’s threat to ‘dump’ pro-Trump people off in the middle of Kansas

While there may be a dispute over the reasoning, what is not in dispute is that an American Airlines pilot went on a flight’s PA system and threatened to “dump people off” in the middle of Kansas.

Not just any group of people, mind you. We’re talking about overzealous, MAGA-hat wearing Trump supporters.

Mindy Robinson, one of the passengers on the flight, which left Friday from Reagan National Airport for Phoenix, Ariz., shared video online of some passengers chanting “USA, USA.” The iconic red MAGA hats impossible to miss.

“Wow. I’m on a plane full of patriots flying from DC to Phoenix and we started chanting “USA” …and the Captain came on said told us he’d drop us off in Kansas if he had to if we didn’t obey their every single rule,” Robinson tweeted. “American Airlines is everything but American.”

Robinson, an unapologetic Trump supporter, said in another tweet that “they were rude to me on the way too there because of my MAGA hat.”

Another social media user shared a video capturing the pilot’s words as he addressed passengers.

“This is the way it’s gonna be. Um, it’s a four-and-a-half-hour flight out to Phoenix,” the pilot can be heard saying. “We’ll put this plane down in the middle of Kansas and dump people off — I don’t care. That’s… We will do that if that’s what it takes. So behave, please.”

In a follow-up, the social media user commented on what they said was the pilot’s reasoning.

“The ‘behave’ part was because people were chanting ‘fight for Trump’ and ‘USA,'” the tweet said.

American Airlines, on the other hand, claimed the incident was over wearing masks, saying some of the passengers were refusing to comply with the airline’s current mask mandate.

“Prior to departure from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), the pilot onboard flight 1242 made an announcement emphasizing the importance of following crew member instructions and complying with mandatory face-covering policies,” a representative for the carrier said in a statement, according to Fox News.

With Democrats and their corrupt media allies conflating over a hundred thousand peaceful protesters with a small faction that stormed the U.S. Capitol last week, it’s been open season on Trump supporters.

The president of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA said last week that pro-Trump protestors should be prohibited from flying on commercial aircraft leaving DC after displaying “mob mentality behavior” on planes, Fox News reported.

More from the network on alleged disruptive passengers:

Last week, Alaska Airlines banned 14 passengers who refused to wear masks and harassed crew members aboard a flight from DC to Seattle. And on Thursday, American Airlines confirmed that it would no longer be serving alcohol on flights to and from the DC area “as a precautionary measure,” just one day after Trump supporters on a flight from Texas to DC clashed with other passengers after landing at Dulles International Airport.

The flight attendant union’s chief, Sara Nelson, appeared to encompass all Trump supporters while referencing Wednesday’s violence at the U.S. Capitol.

“Their violent and seditious actions at the Capitol today create further concern about their departure from the D.C. area,” Nelson said in her statement. “Acts against our democracy, our government and the freedom we claim as Americans must disqualify these individuals from the freedom of flight.”
