Prominent conservatives have begun pushing back on the gross lie being peddled by the left that the pro-Trump rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday would have been treated significantly worse had they been BLM rioters.
It’s not even clear how the treatment could be any worse than the treatment faced by U.S. Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt, who was killed by police during the riots.
Regardless, Fox News host Laura Ingraham began Thursday’s broadcast of Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle by highlighting the “glaring and pathetic” double standard being practiced by President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
Following Wednesday’s riots, both issued statements justifiably condemning the riots but also falsely claiming that the rioters would’ve been treated differently had they been BLM rioters. Yet as Ingraham noted, that was a full-scale lie.

During the summer riots, Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters burned down numerous homes/businesses, terrorized innocent people, and even killed a few.
In response, Biden’s staffers paid for the rioters’ bail, Harris promoted a rioter bail fund, and Biden himself released “carefully-worded released statements” that gently and unseriously condemned the riots, according to Ingraham.
“He never called the perpetrators a mob of thugs or domestic terrorists — and there were no calls by his media cheerleaders to bring the criminals to swift justice, use facial recognition. I don’t remember any of that,” she said.
Instead, virtually every Democrat, every corporation, and every institution, including the institution of law and justice, bowed at their feet both literally and metaphorically:

“Streets were painted in their honor, organizers were featured all over TV and became invited speakers at schools across America,” Ingraham continued.
Meanwhile, Democrat governors and mayors went out of their way to protect the rioters from the local police officers trying to hold them accountable.
In Portland and Seattle, the rioters were permitted to establish violent autonomous zones for a so-called “summer of love,” as Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan had put it.
In virtually every left-wing city where the rioters struck, the few who were arrested were always ultimately released without bail, let alone any charges.
And when President Donald Trump tried to intervene by sending in National Guard troops, the troops were smeared by congressional Democrats as “stormtroopers”:

Months later, every member of the left — from every Democrat politician to every media talking-head — is hellbent on seeing justice be applied against the Capitol rioters and hellbent on seeing the Capitol Police pay a price for not being tough enough.
The double standard is appalling …
“We said yesterday all violence is wrong, no matter what the politics are supposedly of the instigators, but the double standard here is glaring and pathetic,” Ingraham said.
As well as indicative of how the Capitol rioters would have REALLY been treated had they been BLM rioters.
“Democrats would have urged restraint and dialogue. … In fact, that’s exactly what happened last summer when protesters threatened the White House. Remember how funny the left thought it all was when President Trump was taken to a secure location because the Secret Service was concerned about his safety?” Ingraham said.

Ingraham isn’t the only one who’s noted the stunning double standard and hypocrisy. The New York Post‘s editorial board penned a piece about it Friday.
“Across the country, BLM and Antifa were coddled. Portland allowed them to set up an autonomous zone in the middle of the city for months, and police and politicians did nothing. In liberal cities, politicians told cops to back off and pushed for more lawbreakers to be released without bail or no charges,” they wrote.
“The thugs who attacked the Capitol were met with officers fighting back at barricades and tear gas. Guns were drawn and, in one case, deadly force was used. The rioters were able to get the run of the Capitol because cops were vastly outnumbered. Officials are already resigning or being fired because of that failure.”
In conclusion, they added, “This was a horrible insurrection and should be condemned. But Mr. Biden, don’t hypocritically try to rewrite the story of last summer’s riots to suggest that liberals weren’t permissive or that there’s some sort of double standard or racism at work here. We all saw what happened then, we all see what happened now.”
Prominent conservative commentator Ben Shapiro has said the same:
Biden and Harris could have provided a moment of unity: everyone of good conscience deplores the riot in the Capitol. Instead, both decided to parrot the woke bulls*** that the police treated the rioters with kid gloves, and would have murdered them en masse were they BLM.

That’s categorical nonsense. Over the summer, BLM rioters ran roughshod through NYC, DC, LA, Chicago, and other major cities — and streets were renamed after BLM, police departments defunded, corporate brands cheered them, and politicians marched in solidarity.

Unfortunately, the left doesn’t care and isn’t listening, as the completely false narrative about different treatment continues to propagate, with everybody from Democrats to mainstream media outlets, and even WorldStarHipHop sharing the lie.
