Lara Trump believes that her father-in-law, President Donald Trump, has a path to victory when a joint session of Congress convenes on January 6 to certify the Electoral College votes.
The post-election process, traditionally a formality (but this is 2020), is outlined in Article II of the U.S. Constitution.
A hopeful Lara Trump addressed what could occur on what she described as “the date of ultimate significance” during a discussion with Dr. Gina Loudon on America’s Voice network.
“[The votes] will be opened by Vice President Mike Pence and read aloud for the joint session of Congress. And if two House members object to the vote for Joe Biden, just two, then everybody takes a break. They split up then, the Senate and the House divide. They go debate, and then they ultimately have to vote to decide the outcome of this election. Now, here’s where it gets really interesting.”
“Each senator gets one vote. Now we know, we’ve been talking about what we’ve just been talking about how important it is to hold a majority in the Senate, but we do right now have the majority in the Senate. And don’t forget the vice president also counts as a Senate vote… And then as far as the House is concerned, it is each delegation. So that doesn’t mean each House member gets a vote. That means each delegation, so each state ultimately gets a vote,” Lara Trump continued.
Lara Trump, rumored to be eyeing a future North Carolina Senate seat, also noted that the GOP has the advantage in the context of House delegations, although they are narrowly in minority in absolute numbers in the chamber.
“What’s really interesting about this…the Republicans are in control of 30 of those votes. The Democrats are in control of only 20. So if it comes down to a vote, and the Republicans in the House and the Senate decide, gosh there was so much fraud in this election. We have evidence of it. We have affidavits, thousands of them that the campaign has gotten. We have evidence that more people voted in the state of Pennsylvania than even were registered to vote.
“Thousands of dead people voting. And for whatever reason, they decide they will not certify this for Joe Biden, and they vote for Donald Trump. Then guess what? Donald Trump remains president of the United States for the next four years,” Lara Trump concluded.

Lara’s premise assumes that the Republicans in the Senate will stick together and discount the RINO effect.
The GOP holds the majority in the Senate as things stand now, moreover, pending the outcome of the Georgia runoffs which the Republican governor and secretary of state are inexplicably trying to hand to the Democrats through lax ballot security measures.
U.S. Sen Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) has formally announced that he will object to the Electoral College certification, and it is rumored that Sen-elect Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) and perhaps some others, will join Hawley in this effort.
In the House, Reps. Mo Brooks and “Florida Man” Matt Gaetz, along with many other lawmakers on the GOP side of the aisle, plan to object.
These officials seemingly reflect the views of nearly 75 million Trump voters, who likely think that the hocus-pocus that occurred in the early morning hours immediately after the election in certain key precincts constitutes a stolen election. The corporate media continues to insist, however, that no “widespread” fraud occurred in Election 2020. The court system thus far has been skittish about intervening in the election and has rejected most cases for separation-of-powers plus other too-hot-to-handle considerations.
