Hotel Harrington announced ahead of a planned Pro-Trump rally next month that it will be closed on January 4, 5, and 6 “for the safety of visitors and employees.”

The hotel was ground zero for members of the Proud Boys, who gathered in front of the facility and at Harry’s, the hotel bar, during pro-Trump rallies earlier this month.

“Washington D.C. has been our home for 106 years and we join with all of our guests, visitors, staff and neighbors in our concern and desire for everyone’s health and safety,” Hotel Harrington said in a statement.

“We greatly appreciate the trust our guests have placed in Hotel Harrington over the years and we wish to continue to earn that trust,” the release continued. “While we cannot control what happens outside of the hotel, we are taking additional steps to protect the safety of our visitors, guests and employees.”

The hotel will be closing on Jan. 4, 5th, and 6th for the safety of visitors and employee’s. Refunds will be made to any pre-paid reservations.

In what amounts to an extension of the left’s cancel culture, The Washington Post ran an article ahead of the announced closure ensuring folks knew Hotel Harrington “has been gaining a new reputation: Proud Boys hangout.”

Generally strict about placing content behind a paywall, the Post allowed the article to be accessed by all.

More from The Post:

The militant right-wing organization that vigorously supports President Trump, which has clashed in violent street battles with members of antifascist groups and others who oppose Trump, has made the Harrington its unofficial headquarters when members come to the District. Several hundred Proud Boys recently stayed at the hotel while in town for the Dec. 12 protest of Joe Biden’s election as president.

Note how the newspaper almost makes the oft-violent Black Lives Matter movement and their domestic terrorist Antifa allies sound noble — and while the article reports four people were stabbed during clashes earlier this month, it doesn’t say the left was doing the stabbing.

The Post did cite the usual anonymous sources to report that the “presence of Proud Boys at the bar and hotel has unnerved some guests and workers, many of whom are Black and Hispanic and were intimidated by their presence.”

The liberal newspaper also shared that Harry’s has been cited several times recently for violating social distancing and mask regulations.

“The violations occurred on weekends when large numbers of Proud Boys and other pro-Trump supporters, in town for demonstrations, were in the bar,” the Post said.

The left tried to intimidate the owner of Harry’s after the rallies earlier this month.

In a statement to the Post, D.C. Council member Brooke Pinto, a Democrat, ripped the bar for “its disregard for public health guidance,” and its complicity in allowing “hate groups” to gather.

All of which may put a whole other light on Harry’s being cited for violating pandemic restrictions.

Never mind that Boyle closed the bar early that weekend, closing his doors after lunch that Friday and Saturday, according to DCist.

He also said they welcome “all groups.”

“We don’t ask people who they voted for or what kind of hat they’re wearing,” Boyle told the DCist. “They walk in the door, we smile, and we seat them and serve them. We don’t discriminate against anybody.”

Congress is set to convene on January 6, 2021, to officially approve the 2020 election results. A growing number of Republican lawmakers vow to contest Electoral College votes from states marred by voter fraud allegations.

The longshot effort needs one senator to ensure debate and a vote in the House and Senate.

President Trump tweeted: “Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!”
