With the clock running out on President Donald Trump’s challenge to the dubious results of the 2020 presidential election, some on the right are calling that outcome the “Great Heist.”
But “the greatest crime of the 21st century” is the lockdown of society by authorities, resulting in a staggering toll on its victims, from thousands of lost businesses to bouts of depression, according to attorney Michael Senger. A price that far exceeds the toll exacted by the Chinese virus.
The crime, as Barstool founder Dave Portnoy aptly summarized in a video shared online, is politicians stealing the basic right to earn a living.”
Portnoy railed against politicians in New York City over the “insanity” of shutting down indoor dining in response to a surge in the number of coronavirus cases.

“What do they think is going to happen? What do they think is going to happen to thousands of restaurants — they’re done!” he said. “The bar and restaurant industry and small businesses have been squeezed and squeezed and squeezed, and they’ve tried everything.”
Stressing that a vaccine is just around the corner, Portnoy asked, “How do you expect these people to survive?”
“I can’t believe in this country — what I consider the most basic right of them all, the right to earn a living — the right to earn a livelihood is now being stolen,” he said.
He compared himself to restaurant owners in building the success of Barstool Sports.
“Basic freedoms they are stealing, and I’m not over-saying it,” he said. “They are stealing it. And they’re saying they’re protecting us. Let us protect ourselves. You’re not protecting a family that you just destroyed. These people aren’t getting their livelihoods back.”
“If I start Barstool and I work my d— to the bone for a decade and I got right to the point of making it and you pulled the plug without me having a chance, I’d rather die,” Portnoy declared.
Insisting that this country “is never gonna be the same,” he said government should let people decide for themselves.
“It’s not your place to tell me how to live my life at this point,” Portnoy concluded. “In this country, politicians are taking away the right to earn a living. It’s that simple and it’s insanity. I don’t know what the answer is, but it’s insanity.”
With Democrats and their media allies having fully weaponized the pandemic, going after those who fail to enact strict guidelines, letting people decide comes with a risk. Just ask South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, or Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
As for Senger, the self-described attorney dedicated an exhaustive series of tweets to “the victims of lockdown,” detailing the long term effects on many businesses, and the depression and drug overdoses that are being seen.
1/ Thread – LOCKDOWNS – WHAT WE’VE DONE
My work is sometimes criticized for not discussing the merits of lockdown—perhaps even exculpating western leaders by blaming the CCP. Others know better. This thread is for the victims of lockdown, the greatest crime of the 21st century. pic.twitter.com/AsIKPde0Hp

Calling the shutting down of businesses “the core evil of lockdown,” Senger took note that “nearly half of black-owned small businesses have been wiped out.”

Linking to various media reports, Senger pointed out that people are going hungry because of commerce being stymied and that anxiety and drug use are on a rise.

Citing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, he said 100,947 deaths in 2020 were not even linked to coronavirus.
“In other words, over 100,000 Americans were murdered this year by their OWN GOVERNMENT,” he tweeted, adding that depression is now common among young people.
9/ Though at little risk from the virus itself, young people bore an outsized share of the burden. More than 70% of adults ages 18-23 said they experienced common symptoms of depression. https://t.co/BHfombEVEx

There are additional costs, according to Senger, who insisted that “millions of lives have been destroyed… by their own governments.”
Here are the other tweets in the thread detailing this assertion:
11/ In Ireland, reports of rape and child sex abuse nearly doubled.https://t.co/Y5IRHKX27P

13/ “September of 2020 has been the highest month ever that we've seen suicidal patients admitted to our medical center,” said Kia Carter, M.D., medical director of Psychiatry at Cook Children’s Hospital.https://t.co/dTVdeFRGXW

15/ And, despite being at virtually no risk from COVID, as a result of lockdowns, children have suffered the most of all. Nearly one in four children living under lockdowns are dealing with anxiety, with many at risk of lasting psychological distress.https://t.co/kMNgA7VItE
— Michael P Senger (@MichaelPSenger) December 10, 2020
17/ Children’s health and intellectual development has regressed. Some who were potty-trained before lockdowns have reverted to diapers, and others have forgotten basic numbers or how to use a knife and fork.https://t.co/K0V5L024id

23/ In India, millions of stranded workers lost their livelihoods and marched in exodus to far-off villages.https://t.co/jTTINTA6lD

27/ The UN later estimated that the crisis had “pushed an additional 150 million children into multidimensional poverty—deprived of education, health, housing, nutrition, sanitation or water.”https://t.co/2eAcvmb5k3

29/ Lockdown supporters may cower from these facts, but that doesn’t make them any less real. Journalists pretend to fool each other, dissociating by attributing these travesties to the “pandemic” instead of “lockdowns.” But God is not fooled.https://t.co/FO9a615E0j
— Michael P Senger (@MichaelPSenger) December 10, 2020
30/ Due to the CCP’s lockdown fraud, millions of lives have been destroyed and millions murdered—by their own governments. The CCP and its enablers must be held accountable to stop lockdowns, ensure they never happen again, and see that justice is done.https://t.co/dKhu6AZufx
